Here's the outcome of this one:

Before the outbound I called LX to split my PNR. Worked perfectly.

No upgrade on the outbound. Checkin lady told me that I'd have been upgraded if biz would not have been full too.

Inbound: opup cleared. All my parents (both FTL), sister (basic) and me have been upgraded to C ^. Staff in CAI was very nice. At checkin I asked for a cash upgrade only to be told that we might have already been upgraded and that we should check at the gate. Got a Y bp with a handwritten comment "check at gate". During boarding a friendly guy came over to hand us over 4 new C bp for the small (premium) cabin row 4 and 5 ^.

This week I have a different situation. Both my sister (Blue) and I are booked in the same PNR (Family trip sponsored by my parents and I guess the TA just booked my sister and me together, and in a 2nd PNR my parents (they have an earlier oubound, same inbound).

I'm still hoping for an opup, both the outbound and inbound seem to be totally sold out in Y (and J on the outbound) You can't buy tix in Y on lx.com anymore.

So how yould you judge this? Does the fact that I'm in the same PNR as my sister lower my chances for an opup? We are travelling in K (outbound) and in G on the inbound.

Any advices?

Thank you

PS. I received a 6 digit alpha-numeric record locator. I tried to retrieve it on checkmytrip, viewtrip, virtuallythere, lx.com, lh.com but can't find it! Anybody knows? AFAIK it looks like an amadeus reservation on the pax receipt. Or is this a LX phone reservatin and therefore I'am unable to view it on lx.com?

This statement in itself is blasphemous! Op-ups do not "clear", they are endowed upon you by higher grace. Saying an op-up 'cleared' is like saying that someone's canonization 'cleared' or the Nobel Prize of someone 'cleared' !

How many op-ups from hell to purgatory or from purgatory to heaven have you ever heard of? This is Lufthansa, not some happy-end fairy tale !

Or LH for that matter ...

I wonder where it goes "LH, hell, purgatory, heaven" or "hell, LH, purgatory, heaven"? I reckon it must be the second as even a flight in Y doesn't last eternally but also you are definitely not a clean slate like after purgatory..

It sounds about right as far as Y goes but there's some doubt as to where C and F fits in, especially in terms of food on offer...
