Suggestions for Mileage Run
Alright, I am the kind of LH-FF who always just barely makes the 100K in order to keep his Senator status. Due to the new re-qualification rules this year it's even more difficuilt. I'm 15,000 Miles short but won't have any time to do any leisure travel over christmas or out of the country. Any suggestions for a a)not time-consuming, b)cheap and c) effective mileage run in North America or any other alternative would be well-appreciated.

The most effective for you would be to go for segments. as you are in california, this is fairly easy and could be done in 2 days. 2 rt's of 6 segments each will net you 15k miles. do a search on the ua forum for intra california runs.
example : SNA/LAX/SBA/SFO/SMF and return (or vice versa)....

Are you planning on flying in Y, C or F?
A couple of ideas:
fly to Europe on LH or UA; SFO-BRU/MXP on UA shows a weekly e-fare of $299.
fly to South America on UA; check out their weekly e-fares
either of these will get you 12,000 flight miles, which with the 1.25 SEN uplift gets you 15,000 miles.

I am wondering why Miles and More members who are cheating and who encourage other members to do so, are going public. Why do you not disappear from this well known and acknowledgeable place?
If cheating is so important for you, why dont you join a private place for members only without any lurker?

I can't see why it should be cheating to spend 139 on a LH fare for cashing in 5.000 miles. That's 3 cent per mile. They sell their miles much cheaper to their partners. And in much bigger quantities...
Also I would like to add that I met Tim on two occasions and really value his 850 posts here on this board. You, dear Prof., did not share as much interesting information yet. So please be a bit more friendly and respectful as long as you stay at our community here. If you don't like it, please see if this other board you mentioned above is a better place for you and provides you a better information ressource...

There are plenty of ways of getting status miles.
I'd advise having alook for UA runs in CA, maybe the Mileage Run forum is the best place to look?
Most UA routing tables for intra-CA tix can be streched to 6-8 segments (Some 10000 Status Miles). You'll need at least two days (needn't be a weekend) to get the segments in.
Regards,
Alex
Good luck!

Well, I appreciate all your suggestions and hope that I can return the favor in the future.
Secondly, I'm sorry that this became a rather emotional discussion.
And finally, I can calm Sir Doctor Professor Haase that I would never cheat on the poor Lufthansa but rather go on a mileage run - nothing's better than enjoying the friendly skies over California.

UA has some cheap Biz class flights out of ORD. $200 rt should be worth 5000 miles, and you always wanted to see Akron, Columbus, Omaha, and Cleveland. Maybe some of those flights are in segments, which would be worth 10k for a single ticket. No time limit on stay. Make certain this is a Business class trip. The website will not produce any of the flights for me.
Those are 2 class airplanes. I don't know how you get a ticket, but if you can(call the web site people) I think that gets you 7500 miles per rt as it is first class.
