No chance, they just cut the longhaul June schedule in MUC from 17 to 5 destinations.

Eating and drinking while seated in the lounge has resumed in MUC this week. The offerings remain meagre.

Any word on when FRA lounges will resume normal catering?

Does JFK lounge offer normal catering?

Unfortunately, the answer to both of your questions is a no.

I think it's a new policy of Lufthansa Group airlines to grant acess only to: 1) Lufthansa lounges; 2) Star Alliance members airline's lounges and 3) Star Alliance lounges. No more contract lounges or that option is reduced to a minumum. This is the same policy decided by TAP Air Portugal in APR 2019, although we still can find more contract lounges for TAP passengers rather than Lufthansa Group passengers.

LH group cancelled their contracts with contract lounges when the pandemic began. They have reinstated some where the new terms were acceptable to both parties.

Indeed - I have found it quite unacceptable we were told no lounge in MEX for F pax. luckily we have amex platinum and Priority pass, otherwise very disappointing!

Does anyone know what the IAD lounge is currently offering? I'll be in there next week or so. If not no worries I can report back my findings.

Can you specify what can we expect?
Sandwiches/water/coffee or some extras like salads/beer... ?

Iīll have almost 5h layover in MUC soon and itīs quite important for me :)

oliver2002 May 6, 2021 11:55 pm

MUC: No extras so far.

IAD: open like before with food on offer.

Ok cool. Out of curiosity is it the plastic boxes of food or a more substantial/semi pre covid amount of offerings? Thanks!

Whatever the VA health department allows, in Signal chat groups I've read reports of semi pre covid offerings.

Sounds good thanks! I shall report my findings when I pass through.

Spouse reported from LH EWR lounge today: Only bottled water and tiny Oreos, nuts, potato chips and goldfish. (Yet restaurant outside lounge providing food in sealed containers and wine and beer in both sealed and unsealed containers.) Now dreading layover in FRA.

Sad state of affairs at EWR lounge:
