A similar approach at Manchester might offer a bit more peace and quiet, but not sure any refurbishment is on the cards.
The separation also exists at BHX, doesn't make a huge differences but the seats are a little less busy, a little less filthy and you are further away from the loud people, which is why BHX still beats MAN.

Finding the shutters down, what a blessing in disguise! Definitely a better breakfast to be had at the Spoons or similar.

An interesting piece about lounge space in MAN T2 in Head for points.
Virgin Atlantic scraps its Manchester Clubhouse

“The question now is how the lounge space that was earmarked for Virgin Atlantic will be used.

According to X account SPD Travels, the same account that initially flagged the news, it is to be taken over by an airline alliance. Assuming this is correct (and we haven’t been able to verify this independently) you have three suspects, all of which are credible – Star Alliance, SkyTeam and oneworld.

According to aviation analytics firm Cirium, the alliance flying the most seats into Manchester is Star Alliance, with 122,875 for July 2024.

With the most seats from Manchester, it would make sense for Star Alliance to operate its own lounge, purely from a capacity perspective. It has the customers to make it a worthwhile investment and also has the highest number of individual airlines operating from the airport (12). Long haul carriers include Singapore Airlines, Air Canada and Ethiopian.”

We can only hope.

It’s going to be the Escape lounge at T2 for most *A airlines, isn’t it?

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances the Escape Lounge in Terminal 1 is temporarily closed for maintenance work. All affected customers have been contacted, fully refunded and given discounts for future visits. The lounge is due to reopen on Tuesday. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Are they really spending money to fix the place? 🤔

No. They’ll empty a bottle of febreze in the affected spots and staple bin bags over the marks.

When you read about couples spending their honeymoon at the Manchester Escape lounge to have an "extra special time" and that the discount voucher will be useless to them because they won't travel again within the year, it makes you stop for a moment and check your privilege.

I would guest both of them in and forfeit my own entry if I could...
