3G-1G? A330 [3 class aircraft on a 2 class flight to ALA]

Hi!

i have a paid trip leaving on LH648. I'm in 3G Business. But I can choose 1G (First). I've paid for business. I'm scared if I pick 1G it will be fixed but I also don't want to lose the chance for a free upgrade. Any advice?

UPDATE I called LH and they say row 1 and 2 are business and there is no first. But on seatguru, and LH.com I see no plane that is only 2 class. I've taken this flight before and seen first class seats though the curtain.

It must be one of those 2-class services on a 3-class aircraft. ExpertFlyer is showing all seats in rows 1 & 2 as "occupied", so if you can select 1G it must be a SEN perk. You'll get Business Class service in a First Class seat.

No way. I'm gonna save more and bring the big red ones that you bait hooks with.@:-)

I will say two things I learned:

1. They say that when row 1-2 are business they prioritize families in them. I guess their logic is it's a little isolated so the kids can make a little noise. My logic would be to give me the seat and the kids a little whisky in their milk to make them sleep in Y.

2. I called SEN hotline twice trying to figure this out. The first time the agent insisted this was a 2 class plane and that there are less seats in 1-2 because of the curvature of the plane. The second agent confirmed exactly what NewbieRunner said. So as mentioned many times before in FT if you don't like the answer just keep calling until you get one you like.

Once in a while I wonder if any of these agents have actually ever been on one of their own planes

They may have done but probably not in the section of the plane with curvature.

Actually I think the explanation is a very original. ^

On the internet:
For the BER callcenter they atleast ask for FH:
http://www.lufthansagts.com/stellena...enberater.html
In CPT secondary education is enough:
http://www.globaltelesales.co.za/job...consultant.php
In MEL education doesn't even matter as long as you can speak a language:
http://www.globaltelesales.com.au/join_team.php
YPQ needs HS diploma and six months experience
http://www.globaltelesales.ca/jobad.asp?msub=4
DUB is very vague:
http://www.globaltelesales.ie/?m=4&s=1

gnopps told me a few stories when he was a trainer at GTS DUB. Not very funny.

Be assured that most of the agents never saw a LH aircraft from the inside.

I had this in March when I flew FRA-KIX. It was not possible to reserve these seats as a SEN in advance (only HONs could do it according to the agent). However, I checked in online 24 hours before the flight and managed to grab 2DG, which was great of course. I think it would have been open to anyone to get these seats.

I thought you had reserved 2DG in advance. It's probably just as well that some call centre agents don't know about this. Otherwise more pax may be waiting to grab those seats in rows 1 & 2 as soon as OLCI opens.

I like "Knowledge of world geography" as one of the requirements at YPQ. ^ Reminds me of complaints they had in the UK when telephone directory enquiries and rail enquiries were outsourced to cell centres in India.

Be assured that most of the agents never saw a LH aircraft from the inside.
Despite discounted staff travel...
