Also, unfortunately (for me), there are never “good deals” from the US to Europe whereas prices from Europe to the US are almost always significantly lower.

Both, but agree that the difference in experiences probably comes down to the fact that I'm usually ex-CDG or ex-LHR and you're ex-US.

Yes. Sign me up for 4k-6k EUR ex-CDG in La Premiere to JFK! It’s double that from here to Paris.
