Northwest used to have it as Eglin AFB in their system. If you haven’t been there in the 21st century the new terminal is pleasant for a small airport and does include public toilets airside unlike the old one. They still do usually use the north-south runway for most landings, which is in the vicinity of Alabama and gives the passengers a Polderbaan- like experience in getting to the gate

I can only assume that the "travel agents" who voted it into top place are the kind that never actually use airports.

Over at MUCforum.de some members take the pain to evaluate the destatis numbers and pair it with the capacities:
The QR, EK and AA numbers look rather dire...

Probably the worst airport I've been in 2018, although I must admit I've been to DAC so many times I get used to it.
That lounge in MAN btw, dear god - absolutely dreadful

I hope the powers at MAN are reading this....
The Aspire lounge, totally inappropriate name, usually filthy, overcrowded with Easyjet & Jet2 pax who are determined to get their money’s worth

Good demolition job, Newbie Runner.
I think most of the surveys and polls put out these days are just thinly disguised marketing dreck or payments for services rendered. Of course, we could never accuse SkyTrax of indulging in such nefarious practices!

Yes, I honestly can't think of anything that is further removed from the true meaning of "aspire" than the Aspire lounge at MAN. There should be a sign above the entrance: "Abandon hope all ye who enter here."
