If you qualify in March 2011 for HON you will have this status all of the rest of 2011, 2012, 2014 and January and February of 2014.

Even with the new restrictions it still makes SENse. Say I am SEN now do the runs for 420 miles. I requal for SEN another 2 years and get 2 vouchers plus the miles. Have another year and a half to make 180 miles get HON for 2 and 1/2 years plus 6 vouchers and miles and SEN for 2 years after that. Brings me close to lifetime SEN. They changed the rules but still makes a good play for me.

You will only receive a total of 8 e-vouchers if you qualify for HON at the right point in time. The 2 SEN requalification vouchers are usually put on your account at the end of November of the last full year of your current SEN status. You would then have to hit the HON threshold until the of December.

You do know that the 1.000.000 status miles need to be accrued in the 10 years before reaching the age of 60 ? So if you're over 50 now, you might have a shot at it.

If not watch this space closely to read about coming enhancements!

Thanks! Probably should have joined Flyertalk sooner. Been doing this for many years but never with a plan. Missed out on a lot of opertunities and one does get used to the percs, lounges op-ups etc. My son put me on when he started collecting cash for taking the next flight on tickets I had paid for ;-) But its a great hobbie!

HON run

I need about 360.000 miles to reach HON. It's not a problem if I get more.
If you have a schedule I can join please PM or e-mail me.

Thanks,
Ben

Could anybody explain me something about the UK status-matched SEN fiasco? i found many posts but I don't remeber anything of this matching.

If somebody is interested there are some italian FTers trying to arrange one return flight out of LIN. Destination is to be decided but is in the 300 NM range, so it could be Nice, Marseille, Calvi, Bastia, Figari, Olbia (in this case VAT to be added being an italian destination), Slovenia, Croatia or Switzerland. Probably an overnight stay with return flight within 24 hours in order to have the discounted rate.
Return fare is 1864 EUR pp all inclusive (to be added dinner at destination and hotel if overnight stay). Please PM me for details.

Keep in mind that if you fly domestic, you also don't get the additional 5% discount AND you don't get the additional miles.
