They are trying to limit traffic in to a congested area. But for pickups and drop offs in cars, taxis, limos, etc. they are not offering an alternative. (yet)

Isn't that a 1 mile walk along some inhospitable routes? I haven't seen anybody walk down Sepulveda with luggage in tow.

"Safest" route I think is to walk towards T1, then cross diagonally through the Park n' Fly towards the police station, where you can meet up with the sidewalk along Sepulveda that will go towards In-n-Out.

I once saw someone walking through the Sepulveda tunnel with luggage :eek:

It's not inhospitable but also not exactly a walk in paradise. It's better to use the east side of Sepulveda because that side has wide sidewalk and lush grass landscaping.

And plenty of people do it all the time with luggage... I see them every time I drove by (and I drive by it at least twice a day).

I haven't walked down Sepulveda, but I've started walking from T7 to Lot C because the buses are so infrequent lately.

A lot of buses will just skip T7 if they're full... not a good thing to be at the end of the circuit. For those who don't want to walk all the way to Lot C, it may be more effective to walk to T1 to catch the empty buses there.

It's faster to just walk to C rather than walk to 1 and have the extra time of the whole loop-- it's really not all that far.

The real problem is that there aren't enough C buses. I used to use lot B because the buses came much more often, but C was still tolerable then.

Yes, they are supposed to pick up next to those lettered signs.

Due to construction there is still no sign at T4. I have not had any problems being picked up at T4 on the departure level. I give the the Flagship check in as a landmark.

They DO NOT pick up on the arrivals level. Do not even ask. It will get them in trouble and it jeopardizes the status of these services at LAX.

Could someone estimate how much an UberX ride (with no surge pricing) would cost from LAX to a downtown hotel, for example, the Standard LA?

$22-29, according to the fare calculator on Uber's website.

The Standard LA is a couple hundred feet from the 7th Street/Metro Center station, so you could just take the Flyaway to Union Station and the red line, or the Flyaway and then an Uber if you have luggage.

The D Sign has now been installed between T4 and TBIT on the upper level.
