Two places that are almost guaranteed to have some kind of celebrities at any given day ^

Otherwise as others have mentioned, Brentwood has high concentration of celebrities in general (they all live there). I will also throw in the farmers market in Santa Monica... I can't tell how how many times I saw someone quasi famous there because every time I go, I see someone different.

Of course, having a celebrity there on the same day you are there doesn't mean they'd be there at exactly at the same time and, even if they are, that you'd see them (some use private rooms).

As a kid, once saw Alan Hale (the Skipper on Gilligan's Island) standing out front of his seafood restaurant on Restaurant Row. Don Drysdale's Dugout was near where we lived in Van Nuys, but we never went so never saw if he hung out there.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and just about every other place in the Country Mart in Malibu across the street from Nobu.

Dan Tana and The Ivy seem so old Hollywood or B list these days.

Admiral's Club is a good call, that is an almost never fails one, especially the early flights to NYC. Luques is pretty hot still, Bar Marmont early in the week and Spago is still a favorite too.

Sometimes you see celebrities in LA and don't realize it. I was out taking photos in Brentwood of the LA Marathon and saw two guys in flags. It turns out they were Jedward, a sort of Irish Justin Bieber. You never know.

Bob's Big Boy in Burbank late at night. 10-20% success rate over 4 years during college... it's real close to Warner studios.

I often have seen celebs at Nate and Al's Deli on North Beverly in Beverly Hills. I usually only go there for breakfast...but it busy with "the crowd" throughout the day.

Larry King and his old cronies are there almost every morning for breakfast -- he has a pack of little old Jewish men with him. On weekends, during softball season, they come in a bit later, as his son plays softball. He always sits in the same booth and Carole is his waitress. God, he's a slob; he throws his empty sugar packs on the floor.

The biggest names I ever saw there ... Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, and Tom Hanks at one table ... probably planning Hollywood's next million $$$ movie!

Of course, who is to say that someone famous will be there right at the same hour you are there--or anywhere. They could have left right before you arrived, or get there 10 mins after you leave.

Nate 'n Al's is a good call, especially for older Hollywood and Jewish Hollywood, which reminds me of Milky Way on Pico, Steven Spielberg's mom's restaurant and Ford's Filling Station, Harrison Ford's son's restaurant. I saw Harrison Ford bussing table there in the early days of the restaurant, not sure if he still shows up or not.
