Connecting in SCL

Connecting in SCL
Does anyone have recent experience (with the new terminal) connecting domestic to international (or vv)? I'm looking at the LATAM website for D-I, which says you have to exit the domestic terminal building and walk over to the int'l terminal without collecting bags (if on a single ticket).
I was told the same for a D-I connection on a single ticket in LIM, though, and it wasn't true. I did have to collect and re-check bags ... and almost missed my flight.
Is this a pretty smooth process? Or should I expect problems?

You have to collect bags on an International to Domestic, but no need on the other way around
