High-Class Eats Las Vegas
Greetings,
Does anybody have any suggestions as to mid priced restaurants ($50-75 per) on or near the Strip?
There is so much I'm a little overwhelmed and could use a recommendation from somebody in the know. My previous trips have been on a far lower budget, so I'm real familiar with the buffets
Thanks...

When on the Strip, I enjoy dining at the Mirage. Kokomo's steak and seafood (my favorite Swordfish steak) and the Samba Grille (Brazilian Steakhouse) are two of my picks, and well within the price range you are talking about.
If you're in to Seafood, the Sacred Sea Room at Luxor is also quite good, and has a pleasant and attentive staff.

You can eat almost anywhere in town for $75 per person (excluding alcohol) if you don't go wild.
My more moderate favorites:
Emeril's (MGM Grand)
Olives (Bellagio)
You can even do Delmonico (Venetian) for that price.
I second Kokomo's although it is quite loud due to the live band immediately outside.

$75/person for nice dinner is a good budget in Vegas, if that does NOT include wine.
Check out Drai's in the Barbary Coast:

The best Chinese food I have ever had (including Hkg) was at Jasmine in the Bellagio. Hosted a dinner for 9 there, recently. 7 course prix fixe meal for approx $72.00 pp. The food was absolutely fabulous and elegant. (definitely, not the usual Cantonese fare). The service was great and we had a front row seat looking at the fountains. Most people drank either beer or tea with their dinner, so the check was not inflated by wine. Reservations are essential. Dress is upscale casual.

You should checkout the Eiffel Tower. Its pricey but the view is perfect. If you dont dine there have a cocktail. www.leye.com Located at Paris right on the strip.

Aqua is my favorite restaurant in Vegas. You could do it for under $75pp but you'll want to do the seven-course tasting menu which will blow your budget.
Eiffel tower is one restaurant I would NOT try to do on $75pp. Picasso would be another.

I travel to Las Vegas on a regular basis and my three favorite restaurants are:
Gallagher's Steak House in the NY,NY Hotel
Circo at the Bellagio
Lawry's Prime Rib
You could do any of these on the budget you have to spend. Have Fun!!

on my last trip to Vegas in Feb I ate at "9" in The Palms. It was one of the best meals I ever had in Vegas. Great seafood and steaks, sides and deserts. Atmosphere is loud but service was great and food even better. Runs about 60-90 per person.

Depending on your definition of "near the strip" I'd consider the Wild Sage Cafe. It is in a little strip mall/office area on Warm Springs and Bermuda (southeast of the strip by about 5 blocks or so).
Ate there on my last trip on some one else's recommendation and thought it was excellent. With an entree price of ~$18-30 and appetizer in the $8-15 range, it fits in your price budget with some room for wine and desserts.
The ambiance is quiet, with a very nice decor. Food is American with flair. Below are some links. I thought it was well worth the short trip off the Strip.

Michael Mina, Executive chef of Aqua has left. He founded the original SF location and, based on that reputation, got that coveted spot at the Bellagio. His departure from Aqua was within the last month, so would be interested in hearing if there has been any erosion in the food and service at the Bellagio location.
