vip limo pickup, how much tip?

If a Casino sends a limo to pick up a gambler(player) at the airport, how much tip should one give? [The guide books on tipping don't address this issue.]

I'd say it depends which casino you're going to, if there's traffic and how good the driver is. No less than $20 and probably more like $50 would be what I would tip.

I almost always give $20. Sometimes more, once $100 (special case).

What???

You do realize that most of the biggest players in Vegas are Asians,

and that 99% do NOT tip their limo drivers (or anyone else, for that matter).

Just saying....

Why not?

I've done crazier things than that. Though, I don't have an oriental robe, only a red velvet smoking jacket.

Add Europeans as well - it would never have occured to me to tip a limo driver (whether it's a limo I'm paying for, or one the hotel/casino pays for).

It never ceases to amaze me how desperately some Americans seem to wish to part with their money.

Well, there are instances, especially in a casino environment where you tip to promote an expected return (some might refer to this as a bribe ). Of course, you need to run your own ROI calculations.

Now, I had a regular limo driver for like 2-3 years, and Mark was a pleasure. Also had the bar in the limo stocked, and would give me extra mini's to take on the plane (this was before the silly liquids rule) just in case my upgrade didn't clear. He was a pleasure, and it was very personal --- like an old friend picking you up at LAS. So, obviously, I tipped him a little more than the average limo driver.

Of recent, I've been getting the best pick-up service ever -- good friends greeting me with a smile @ LAS and whisking me off to Palazzo.

I am generally anti-tipping, but not to be a total "boor", I wanted to get opinions from others on this board as to what to do.
[In a separate thread, I noted the problem I had with a cab driver, and there I did give the "officially stated" (per all guide books): 15% (I was actually off by 7 cents),]
