Off beat things to do?

Hey Gang,

We are arriving in Vegas on Saturday for five days.... and have done most of the major shows and attractions.

We are looking for some different things to do.

A few we have right now:

Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing
King Putt Blacklight Golf yes kids at heart...

Anyone with any experience with either of these?

Also, any other recommendation for the time we are there?

We are staying downtown... but not limited to things there.

Thanks in advance.

Atomic Testing Museum?

Also, I think you can do a day trip out to an atomic testing site, but you have to reserve in advance.

Neon Museum. http://www.neonmuseum.org/

Very cool if you're a Vegas history buff, but you need to call ahead for a tour.

Here's what's there:

+1 on this. Really enjoyed this experience. Only lasts an hour or two, but you'll be very charged up afterwards.

WHarvey If you have a car a suggest a trip out to the desert-far away from the lighsaround 6 pm and just watch the sunset and then admire the night sky/stars.Cost nothing but some fuel.
The Liberace musum is fun and pretty cheap
Just walking through the Wynn/Encore and the Bellagio to window shop and and admire the floral displays cost nothing-also the Bellagio fountains.
The Buffet at the Wynn is my favorite-dinner is pricey but well worth it IMO especially if you like fish/seafood.

Yeah. IIRC the tours are run on an on-demand basis. There's also a minor background check involved.

Red Rock Canyon is spectacular.

Also, I have not yet experienced the balloon ride across from Mandalay Bay yet, but it looks interesting.

How about trying cheap Philippine fast food? There are any number of Philippine restaurants to try, though I am most familiar with those east of Maryland Parkway and south of Sahara. My favorite is Itoy Sariling Atin, 2620 S Maryland Parkway, Suite 176. In the same shopping plaza is DJ Bibinkahan and less than a block south is Nanay Gloria.

One of my favorite free activities, for entertaining out-of-town visitors, has been visiting model homes at new home developments.

For cheap, live entertainment, you could visit the Bunkhouse Saloon, just off Fremont Street around 11th (???).
