How about trying cheap Philippine fast food? There are any number of Philippine restaurants to try, though I am most familiar with those east of Maryland Parkway and south of Sahara. My favorite is Itoy Sariling Atin, 2620 S Maryland Parkway, Suite 176. In the same shopping plaza is DJ Bibinkahan and less than a block south is Nanay Gloria.

One of my favorite free activities, for entertaining out-of-town visitors, has been visiting model homes at new home developments.

For cheap, live entertainment, you could visit the Bunkhouse Saloon, just off Fremont Street around 11th (???).
