Anyone have any experience using wifi calling with SK? My most recent trip I used Olleh via KT and while internet was fast, I never got wifi calling to work.

Sorry to be dense, wanted to confirm that renting the wifi router from KT roaming for 4400 KRW (when reserved ahead) comes with data service and I don't need to pay another 27,500 KRW (5 days) for the data SIM itself

That's correct. Only need one of those, not both.

The wifi egg I got worked fine the 48 hours I was in Seoul, however when I return I am going to try and get a SIM card instead for the following reasons:
  1. Using the egg your phone will be connected via wifi meaning it will use data indescriminately vs cellular
  2. An extra item to carry around and worry about charging
  3. You also have to remember to return it when leaving (not a big deal as the process was fast though there was no line
Now the advantage to the egg is that you can easily connect other wifi devices (such as tablet or laptop) to the egg. Though you can always use the tethering option on your phone to accomplish the same thing with a SIM card.
