Angry Excess baggage - AF

Just saw these in the "Questions" section on the KLM site. Talk about going from bad to worse! Which "various channels" were these changes announced in?

Is there an additional luggage allowance for FD members on Air France flights?

On Air France flights, any excess luggage is subject to additional payment.
Why can I take along extra baggage as an Elite member on KLM flights but not when I fly with Air France?

Members of Air France's loyalty program are not permitted to take along extra baggage. Even members of Air France's Frequence Plus program are not permitted to take along extra baggage. Air France and KLM are currently still engaged in drawing up a common guideline involving extra baggage. We will inform you as soon as more is known about this.
I am an FD Elite member but I still had to pay a surcharge for taking along extra baggage on an Air France flight. I was not informed of the need for this ahead of time. Is there a possibility that I could get my money back?

There is no refund for excess baggage on AF flights for FD members.
We announced this through various channels to allow passengers enough time to take this new situation into consideration.

Rather than starting a new thread, why not look a little further down the page and add to the already existing thread on the very issue of luggage allowance on AF?

On the substance, this has now changed, as discussed in the aforementioned thread.

If you look at that thread, you'll find that I did contribute there, but this is a new issue IMO.

I was wondering if someone can tell me what part of KLM's website I should believe, seeing as this information is in their new Questions section, yet contradicts what it says in the FD benefits section, which still shows a 5/10/20kg extra allowance on AF.

The questions section may be new but, not surprisingly, some of the information is old. As mentioned in the other AF baggage thread the extra allowance on AF is new and just hasn't filtered through yet.

If in doubt, bring along a printed copy of the FD benefits for AF flights from the website to back you up. Although, as you already posted, the system seems to be working.
