Privium gate far right |
In Terminal 2. What you see out the window is the departures drop-off lane for buses and taxis, which has been closed to buses and taxis for years. Beyond that is the general drop-off lane. The Privium gate is just to the left of (revolving) door F if you are facing the windows, or on your right if you enter through that door.
Once through the gate you turn left and go up the stairs to the security checkpoints. Johan |

3:55 am on May 25. Just through the auto gate leading to security lines in departure 2. They are already restricting access to security gates with long lines. Once upstairs, no one is manning the priority line. It’s anyways not accessible as multiple lines snake around before you are even reach the beginning of the privium/priority entry. Prepare to arrive early. [edit] Someone showed up to man the priority gate. So smooth sailing. Of the 18 (?) security lines, most were operational so hopefully they can clear the lines relatively quickly. |

How would that reduce the number of passengers? Also, does KLM have a bunch of bigger aircraft lying around in some drawer somewhere? And the pilots to fly them?
Johan KL is performing now 13% under prepandamic levels so it’s not the case that all seats are occupied. And who says that all aircraft are used 100%. For example, I saw yesterday that a B738 coming in from Oporto was sitting like 6 hours before used for the next flight. On the other hand I saw that KL was operating all 4 daily BLL flights with E175/190/195 aircraft. So it could be an idea to bundle the KL1342 and KL 1344 and fly with one B738 or B739. I do understand also crew is needed for this action but in one way or another, something has to happen immediately. That exercise has to be investigated. Or in the end flights will just have to be canceled and some will not be able to come to their destination. |

Johan I know now you might think of 1.000 reasons why it isn’t possible but I’m not sure if someone has looked into it yet. |
AF really doesn't have a lot of spare aircraft ; they retired their A380s and their capacity is simply shifted from away from Asia to TATL routes (for example, 6x daily to JFK plus daily to ORY). Their staff are also quite loaded thesedays and ADP (aéroports de Paris) is also experiencing staff shortages, something like 4 000 open positions.

Around 8:45am today:
Big lines for security (general) but seemed to be moving fluidly, not standing still. Priority security quite slow, about 20 minutes to process 10 people. SP and Privium access to upstairs security (from behind KLM SP check in area) was operational. |
Flying out to London City (on BA) tomorrow around 13:00.
Which Privium check-point would be best to use? Arriving at Schiphol at 10AM should be fine? (have status at BA as well) |
Fun times today:

There's a split upatairs for Privium, oppositie the SP Checkin area.Folllow the sign handlugagge only,,go upstairs and there's a dedicated Privium Lane.No staff needed over there as the Privium lane is fully automatic and accepts Privium cards only.
There's absolutely no need to come early for 7.00 AM departures, there are no queues at SP at that time. Once more and it shows today again, the chaos starts after 10.00AM |
Hi folksLooking for some advice. I have a 10:40 departure for USA tomorrow, no bags to check and Delta sky priority. Any advice on what time I should arrive?
|
Arrived at 12.15 today at the checkin counter for a 4.15 PM departure. I think 3/4 of the pax were already waiting. Check in opens at 12.45 and we finished check in at 1.15 PM.
The good thing: QR escorted all business class passengers to the beginning of the Priority line (in groups) and this safe us a lot of time. We cleared security around 1.30 (but had to wait a little longer for a secondary). Denied in the Privium Lounge because of our young daughter, wich is in line with the rules. So waiting in the Aspire Lounge now. All in all, it could be far more worse. |
