I can't wait to see what new Mint product is installed here!

I imagine a lav or "pantry" will be located there. Though I imagined the forward cabin would be bigger. But who knows what layout it will have. Hopefully we finally learn what "Mint Suite" and "Mint Studio" mean!

The new tail design has been named "Ribbon."

Interesting. I wonder why they changed it part of the way through the order? The tail design looks like ocean waves. Could this be the first LR?

This will very likely be the first Mint plane. Not sure if it is actually an LR or not.

It was confirmed today that this will be the first NEO to be equipped with Mint, however it is not an LR model. So I expect the area behind the "e" in "JetBlue" without the windows to be a lavatory, with a pantry opposite. Of course this is speculation -- the actual config is still TBA.

This will be interesting to see. Some people, like the aib link, thought this could still be LR since LRs are also NEO. I think that's unlikely given that the first LR isn't supposed to come until Q1. In the Q2 earnings call, they still said all the deliveries until end of the year are going to be all core, so this is a change. I think they are seeing mint market recover ahead of all-core markets and switching the final NEO delivery this year from all-core to mint. If the 5 non-LR deliveries next year are also mint, that hopefully will provide enough aircraft to support the additional mint flights out of EWR and LAX.

As long as it has Mint, I'll be a happy camper

It would have been great if they had equipped the NEO with 2L exits that could be used for boarding/deplaning. That's one thing I don't really like about the A321.

For most airlines, the 2L door is too close to the engine for them to safely operate the jet bridge. I think Lufthansa used to use 2L a number of years ago. Gotta love that German engineering.

I always thought this was a terribly missed opportunity and design flaw of the A321.

Agreed, though it seems like they could have moved the door a bit farther forward on the NEO aircraft, however in most cases they seem to have just gotten rid of it entirely which is a bit odd.

The overwing exits (even four of them) weigh a lot less than two type C exits (i.e., 2L and 2R)... especially when 2L is usually a full-height door.

Meant to post earlier this morning. The first JetBlue A321LR is in the works, with a new tail (and winglet) design called "Streamers."

Well, we can now definitely confirm the other aircraft is not A321LR.

diburning Sep 22, 2020 7:27 pm

Airbus line number 10303 on the LR. I’m not sure if we can pinpoint a tail number to that yet.

I think the PW1100G on the neo sticks out farther forward than the IAE/CFM engines of the ceo. On the A321ceo, most airlines opted for a smaller 2L door if they knew for certain that they weren’t going to use it for boarding, and on some configs, the overhead bins went across the top of this shorter (in height) door too. Jet bridges are finicky enough to where you might have a costly accident even when there’s no operator error involved, so that’s why most operators didn’t opt to use 2L which would put the jet bridge very close to the engine.

N2086J was delivered from BFM today and arrived at JFK several minutes ago as flight 6993.

That makes it 6 delivered so far this year I believe?

I believe there were 4 that they ordered but are not taking like this one https://aibfamily.flights/A320/9195

I wonder what's going to happen here.
