A321neo Tracking Thread

The next A321NX, N2029J, will be leaving XFW shortly as flight 6993 to JFK, followed by 6429 to LCQ.

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/...900Z/EDHI/KJFK

This will be the third A321NX in the fleet.

GW McLintock Nov 22, 2019 8:22 pm

Looks like it didn't go. Flight plan has been cleared. Wonder why

The JFK-LCQ flight 6429 is still filed for today and tomorrow.

diburning Nov 23, 2019 1:16 am

Interesting. I assumed that N2027J would be next since it was further along.

That's what I thought too! Then again, it could be a nod to the A320s, when 505 was delivered before 504 ;)

GW McLintock Nov 23, 2019 10:46 pm

Heh, we all got duped. N2017J arrived at JFK earlier today as flight 6993.

N2029J is inflight at this time, same route as the previous one, XFW-JFK

Wow, it looks like Airbus is actually going to reach their goal/revised delivery schedule of five planes before the end of the year. N2027J should be ready to go soon.

I think you're right. It's already registered with the FAA and I imagine it will be ready next month at the latest. I was surprised to see two deliveries within three days; in an hour or so there will be two brand new, unconfigured NEOs on the JFK property.

GW McLintock Nov 25, 2019 11:25 am

While N2017J sits at JFK, N2029J spent less than an hour and 40 minutes before going to LCQ.

diburning Nov 25, 2019 11:04 pm

I've met JetBlue's chief delivery pilot once. He was in my row on the A321neo inaugural. He's also a Mosaic.

GW McLintock Nov 27, 2019 7:29 pm

N2017J is operating flights 355/356 JFK-ONT-JFK tonight. It has not been to LCQ yet, so that means it only has loaded movies and TV shows. LiveTV and Fly-Fi have not been installed yet!

-J.

diburning Nov 28, 2019 7:36 pm

Yikes!

GW McLintock Nov 29, 2019 3:23 pm

I've been told that they rushed N2017J into service for this busy holiday weekend because they wanted the extra capacity. All customers flying on it will be sent the standard $15 vouchers. Today the plane flew JFK-SJU-JFK.

That's interesting. I'd love to know the story behind that.

GW McLintock Dec 3, 2019 1:33 pm

N2038J is ready for delivery at XFW and will fly to JFK soon.

N2017J has been taken out of service and is now at SAL for configuration.

-J.

Intheair2night Dec 3, 2019 2:06 pm

Wow, new planes really starting to roll in now. Thought N2027J was going to be next.

GW McLintock Dec 4, 2019 5:46 pm

There is a flight plan for JetBlue 6993 XFW-JFK for tomorrow morning. I think it will be N2038J but I guess we will wait and see (if it goes at all).

-J.

diburning Dec 5, 2019 2:56 am

It is N2038J. It's in the air now.

tphuang Dec 5, 2019 7:46 pm

looks like 2038J is delivered. So just one more delivery left for this year.

GW McLintock Dec 11, 2019 2:41 pm

N2038J is now in service doing FLL turns. AFAIK, it does not have FlyFi or LiveTV installed.

I saw it at the hangar over the weekend. Looked nice and clean.

-J.

GW McLintock Dec 16, 2019 10:59 pm

N2029J is scheduled to return to JFK tomorrow from LCQ and enter service Wednesday with a flight to Orlando.

-J.

GW McLintock Dec 18, 2019 3:02 pm

N2029J is in service and N2038J has finally gone to LCQ for LTV and Fly-Fi.

-J.

GW McLintock Jan 2, 2020 3:42 pm

N2017J flew from SAL to FLL on 12/30. I expect it to return to service in the coming days. This aircraft has already flown in revenue service, but without LTV or Fly-Fi.

diburning Jan 2, 2020 8:05 pm

N2027J arrived at JFK today.

About time! I was wondering what was going to happen with that one.

How many are expected for 2020? 14 more or will they add the 6 that were supposed to come in 2019 that haven't been delivered yet to get a total of 20 this year (plus the one delivered today)?

tphuang Jan 3, 2020 5:07 am

Technically, only 5 came in 2019. The 6th was scheduled for the 31st, but actually got delivered on the 2nd. I think it's supposed to be 14 more this year. We will see. All depends on airbus.

RWPrincess Jan 3, 2020 3:36 pm

My apologies if I missed this somewhere but I booked an A321 flight today that has EMS seats in Rows 1-4 and 16-18. Is this a Neo?

That would indeed be a NEO. Row 24 is an exit row further back with no A seat that isn't sold as EMS but has extra legroom; 25A also has a ton of extra space with no seat in front of it.

N2038J returned to JFK from LCQ yesterday evening.

N2027J is in service today without LTV or Fly-Fi. Currently there are no JetBlue 2N1s at LCQ or SAL.

GW McLintock Jan 19, 2020 10:06 pm

N2027J flew to Cecil Airport (VQQ) in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday

Interesting. FlightRadar24 shows it going to NZC, which is the old Naval Air Station code for the airport, but has since been reassigned to Nazca, Peru. So, it looks like this was intentionally filed to fly there. Flight 6427 is a maintenance flight number, so maybe HAECO subcontracted to an MRO there? (like how they subcontracted the cabin refresh work to Aeroman in SAL)

I suppose that's possible. Maybe they're all tied up at LCQ and SAL, so they sent it elsewhere.

Is it weird for B6 to name a plane the "David Neeleman" when JetBlue fired their founder as CEO due to his inability to handle massive delays during a winter storm?

I don't think he was personally responsible for that, considering they had (and still have) entire departments dedicated to daily operations. Many employees at JetBlue still think very highly of him.

-J.

diburning Feb 9, 2020 2:39 am

At a few points in time, the morale at JetBlue was so low that the crew members attempted to petition to bring David Neeleman back. That effort ended when "Moxy" was announced.

diburning Feb 13, 2020 8:34 am

Hmm, the deliveries seem to have stopped. JetBlue is expecting 11 planes this year, so I wonder when they'll start arriving again.

Here's the delivery schedule.

Last I heard, one was coming this month. When, exactly, I'm not sure. I expect it will be N2039J or N2047J.

diburning Feb 13, 2020 8:44 am

The VQQ mystery has been solved. The setup work is being done at Flightstar Aircraft Services. It's an MRO that was acquired by HAECO. Delta uses them too for wifi installation.

RWPrincess Feb 14, 2020 4:37 pm

I finally flew on one of these. Very impressed with how quiet the takeoff was. Only bad part was no SiriusXM. Seriously, someone should be fired for that decision.

diburning Feb 22, 2020 5:50 am

Either there's something wrong with N2027J or JetBlue really doesn't need it right now. It came back 2/11, was scheduled on a flight 2/17 that cancelled, and then never entered service.
