I see that the 4 ex-monarch A321s are still showing as leased under JetBlue. The last one was only shown to have been delivered in June.
https://www.planespotters.net/airfra...airways/348g45 I assume these are all stored somewhere. But with the expanded mint flying out of EWR, I wonder if these will be brought into service as reconfigured mint A321s. Well, earning call season is coming soon. We might get some light on that. |

According to the fleet guide wiki:
AFAIK they are still in Tampa (well, 3 of them are... who knows about 902). -J. |

That would seem like a giant waste of money

It was unfortunate timing. The leases were negotiated almost a year ago, and the planes were delivered about a week before the COVID downturn began.

I agree... but what choice do they have :( Pay to reconfigure them with 200 seats and install IFE and Fly-Fi, fly them around with 220 seats and a 5th FA (while demand is at an all-time low)... or just leave them parked at minimal cost? I think this is an instance of cutting their losses. Nobody else wants these planes right now.
-J. From what I can see, the immediate A321NEO deliveries are all 200 seaters. |
With what seats? Seats are usually purchased well in advance and require a decent lead time to manufacture. By the time they get more mint seats that they didn’t plan to buy, they will be obsolete since there is a Mint refresh coming due to the seats not holding up.
N902JT has joined the other three at TPA. |
F-WZMA (msn 10029) had its first flight on July 14th at BFM. This would be the first American-built NEO for JetBlue. An N-number is not assigned yet.
Interesting that although it's built in Alabama, it still has a French registration. -J. |

N2105J (msn 10101) has a new tail scheme and the behind-wing exits deactivated.

Interesting. I wonder why they changed it part of the way through the order? The tail design looks like ocean waves. Could this be the first LR?

Twitter has already named it Blue Wavy Gravy.

I notice the missing windows at where Door 2 used to be... so I think this might be the new Mint aircraft.
I can't wait to see what new Mint product is installed here!
