Hi Everyone,
I was just hoping someone can give me a little information on the hiring process. I applied for a position of Airport Operations Crewmember about 3 weeks ago online and my staus of my application says "under consideration". It has said this since I applied and I check it daily, but now I see that the positon I applied for has been taken off the list of available jobs, but my status still says "under consideration." Is that a good thing? Do you think they took if off the list because they have enough people they want to interview? Should I have heard something by now? Any feedback anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Some airports went into a hiring freeze, even after a position was posted. This is the case for BOS. A friend of mine applied for AO in BOS (she would be a rehire) but has heard nothing. I recently found out about the hiring freeze. This may be the case for your position. I would expect it to start opening up in the next few months..
We have agreements with many domestic and international airlines which you fly space available for a nominal fee. This is eligble for most parents, spouse, and eligible dependents.

I just completed my automated phone interview yesterday! Hopefully they will contact me for the next step. Is the next step the face to face interview? Is that at the home base of which you applied for? How long does it usually take to hear back about the automated interview?

The best bet is to keep checking jetblue.com for updated postings.

Thank You
It will possibly depend on how the operation is going to be run at the station. Most of the smaller outstations are ground contracted out so the only hiring they would need to do would be for gate and counter. Then they would have to send you down to MCO for computer and operations training and I believe that is a 2 week course? I think they might start looking at about 3 months out. Maybe 4. I'm not too sure really. If you're looking at DCA i'd say good luck. I'm sure we are going to have a TON of transfers from IAD and BWI to DCA. BDL may have some bleed off from BOS but I wouldn't expect too much there.

Thank you JetBlueFA! Its BDL that I am talking about. I do look everyday in jetBlue.com but 6 months may be too far out. I am interested in the ticket counter/gate position. I am a former USAirways ticket counter/gate agent. I see that jetBlue uses Sabre Sonic computer system. Do you know how different that is compared to Sabre? Thanks!
It is all point and click now and looks like windows compared to DOS but does the same thing. I haven't used it but just looked at the gate agents using it and it seems ok.

Thanks Again
I use to use SABRE at ATA and I call this version the "hello kitty" version of SABRE where as the old SABRE is the DOS version
