Gomen nasai.
I've been dragged into a multi-national menagé de ocho. I thought it was over but it came back on me this morning like a good bowl of hot mabo.
I hate it when clients develop on-line systems that are so complicated even they can't figure them out.
Starvingly yours,
the humble scrivener

I hope joejones and NickW are enjoying being tied down to their desks. One of my clients is a member at a place called the Japan Business Club. Despite its high-falutin' name, it is really a hostess bar where the hostesses are all young, pretty, 1-st rank college graduates, and their work uniform is a business suit. I guess if I was getting a dressing down from one of these hostesses, I wouldn't mind as much being tied down to my desk. But otherwise I will pass.

Yeah, apologies for the gross kesseki. Things got really complicated really quickly today. Ironically, when I finally got down to our cafeteria for a late lunch, they had... wait for it... mabo. With the extra spice and everything.
Ah well. Next time.

So disappointing. nobody manages to really make easy-to-crank-out-systems thsoe days.
All is driven by the big machine of revenue and the motivation of greed. My friend from china is currently part of the HIPE project (Herschel project by ESA) doing some coding and testing. He continually sees the fumbling and jumbling of code everyday while it compiles.See you all at Mabo this summer, I am out of the picture and back in hibernation until this summer!
Yours humbly,
Sanosuke!

Side question
Are these FT mabo meets always on weekdays? I'm guessing it's easiest for lunch purposes, but just making sure. Somebody is doing some very far-ahead planning...

All mabofests are held on weekdays since the core group all works within striking distance of Chin's. Not to say that a weekend run is impossible, but I suspect Chin's may be more crowded at lunchtime on weekends due to RH proximity.

And being the massive big spenders we all are, we take advantage of an amazingly reasonable lunch deal which is a weekday thing to the best of my limited knowledge.

And thus it became known as the day of Mabo.
Will a burgler arrive? Will the desk get the better of another again. Will Mabo prevail? Will the host be toast? Will Merry Olde win out over the Tora Trio? Oh, but a jolly thing is the curd. Count me in.
