Wiil you bail out if NK declares war on Japan?

FWIW, I'll be out of here faster than Shoichi Nakagawa at an AA meeting.

FWIW...

I'm arriving at NRT 15 August and leaving from NRT 17 September. What happens during those five weeks is undecided.

I don't think I can take another 5 days of politician soundtrucks.

Really, it's warm enough already. We don't need 10 hrs/day of multiple amplified speakers spewing political hot air. At 120 dBa.

I bought the fourteen day Japan Rail Pass and didn't feel it deserved a new thread. I don't have much of an itinerary planned, though I suspect I'll be down to Beppu Onsen and up the Hokkaido. I'm intrigued by Obama-shi, so a stop there may be in order.

Skip Beppu, hit Yufuin instead... Beppu is definitely overbuilt. If you like pachinko, though, it's the place for you.

I live in the Las Vegas area, and I'm not much into casinos, maybe the same applies for pachinko parlors.(?)

I've been having great fun cruising this website: foreclosedjapan.com and have a question. Many homes have floor hatches in the kitchen...what are these for? I'm guessing food storage...some particular food? rice? potatoes?

Onsen at Yafuin

It's for hiding the TV when NHK comes calling.

In Japan, are pet horses kept indoors? Anyone care to describe the bottom photo in the fourth set?
