Another option - Take a Keikyu line train that connects to the Asakusa subway line and leave your bags in a locker at Asakusa, then spend your time exploring the Asakusa area. After exploring, take an airport keikyu train from Asakusa for a relatively slow connection to NRT or take a cab to Keisei Ueno station for the fast train to NRT.

When you consider using the Asakusa line, there are many possibilities like this.

Thank you for the information and suggestions. On the Visit Japan site, I see no area to fill in Transit information. So do I just use Narita Airport's address for "where I'm staying"?

Morning all - hoping to impose on your expertise.

We land at HND at 4pm next week and depart the next day at 11am. Our thought is to go into Tokyo, maybe grab dinner and breakfast the next morning.

Given we have very limited time, would you recommend using a car service? To the hotel and/or the next morning to take us to breakfast and then straight to the airport. Finally, what time should we plan on arriving at HND for an 11am international flight?

Thanks as ever for any help.

If you want speed it up a bit and avoid the trains, I would just take a regular taxi, rather than pay for a hire car.

I'd probably come around 9am for an 11am flight, or a bit later. I assume you'd already have boarding passes and no need to drop bags. Security is pretty quick, and then immigration.

Done and done. I picked one at least by Narita. We'll see how all the uploading goes.

I'm looking to book DEL-HND-JFK (AA on JL metal) as a multi city itinerary rather than a one-way. Would that cause any issues with transit? I have checked baggage but I'm hoping JL can through check the bag. Does anyone have experience with this?

Booked a room for an overnight layover at Nikko KIX. The airport hotel was outside the airport and you have to go through immigration, customs, and health controls. The booking was for 3 people (2 adults & a child) breakfast rate. They still charged us for the child at breakfast - not much only 2K yen (around $16) but aggravating considering we paid 3 people breakfast rate. At check out I brought up the issue to the FD staff and was told that in Japan breakfast rate matches the numbers of beds in the room!!! Total paid including for the 11-year old's breakfast was $241. BTW, the breakfast buffet was awesome and I highly recommend it!

13Hrs at HND - lounge access

Hi, newbie here. Any guidance is highly appreciated. Traveling with a toddler on JAL premium economy DEL-HND-SFO and the layover is 13 hours (7AM-8PM). Will I have access to the Sakura lounge the entire time or only for a few hours before? I'm unable to find this information online. Will the lounge access change if I upgraded to Business class? Currently, there seems to be no airside transit hotels available. Please correct me if wrong Thanks.

You will have lounge access throughout the connection. PY gets access to the business class lounge on Haneda.

The transit hotel remains temporarily closed.

NRT to HND travel options - sightseeing

Hi,

I will be flying into NRT later this month and landing around 5pm, and then will need to take another flight later that night from HND that departs around midnight. I will only have a carry-on bag with me.
I was looking on Google Maps for travel options and found the Limousine Bus for 3200, while the KS41 & KS10 trains were for 1688.

I've never been to Japan before, and would like some advice on a transit option (with sightseeing if possible) that would ideally transit through a central Tokyo transit station, and hopefully be able to take some pictures, and maybe grab a quick bite assuming I have enough time. Ideally, I'd like to get to HND by 9pm latest so I can enjoy some time at the HND ANA *G lounge.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You are not going to have much time for anything else than the transit, sadly. You land at 5pm, on a good day you might be on the train at 6pm, but as it is peak US arrival bank it may also be later than that. Optimally you can be somewhere nice around 7pm, and probably have to leave around 8pm if you want to be at Haneda at 9pm. Realistically you are probably somewhere nice closer to 8, but there is no reason to be at Haneda until 10pm anyway.
