Tips on visiting Tokyo during layover?
Hi,
I will be arriving at Haneda airport at 4:00pm on a weekday. I have a bit of a layover with my connecting flight departing at 1:30am, so about a 9 hour layover. I'd like to visit Shibuya in the meantime, and it'll be my first time visiting Japan. I plan on taking the train both ways.
Can anyone share tips on making this visit as efficient as possible? I'd like to spend as much time in the city as possible. How are the trains during these hours, how long does customs take (I won't be bringing luggage into the city, just a small bag), best time to head back to the airport, places to eat, etc etc... Anything would be extremely helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to FlyerTalk, ssseya!
As your question is not specific to Japan Airlines, I am moving it to the Japan forum.

OP's post seems to have disappeared after I suggested moving it to the "Help I Have a Connection" thread.
IIRC, OP arrives at HND at 4pm (not sure if domestic or international) and departs HND at 1:30am. OP wants to visit Shibuya.
I recommend taking a Keikyu Airport Express train to Shinagawa, then transfer to JR Yamanote line to Shibuya. Journey time is about 35 minutes. So you can stay in Shibuya until 11:00pm or so.

I can't find the original post either, so here it was in short:
From the US, arriving HND at 4pm, layover til about 1:30am (international). Would like tips on making the visit to Shibuya efficient (first time in Japan) -- how is customs/immigration, trains/rush hours, places to eat/see around the vicinity, anything I should know at all beforehand that'd be helpful. Thank you!
