Warning for kinki was lifted 2 hours before class started. Got a text from my teacher, "class is on!"
Mad rush to do homework before I jumped on an overcrowded commuter crowd.
Here's hoping for next weeks typhoon.

I had a flight (BA 744) where they tried to land in the eye of the typhoon. The 2 flights before ours got in, but we got waved off about 50 feet off the runway.
To circle or diverted? 50 feet, eh? Must have been quite interesting. Had that happen once in Phoenix when the pilot noticed another plane still on the runway. Yikes!Originally Posted by 5khours
Flying through a typhoon is not a problem. Landing in one is. If the typhoon comes directly at NRT, there is probably a 2 or 3 hour gap when they can't land. Easy to circle or divert to NGO. I was about three hours delayed out of FRA, but when I arrived there were just some strong winds. Immigration and customs were a zoo, and the Keikyu line timetable was all screwed up, but otherwise the typhoon was fairly uneventful by Monday afternoon.
As usual it came and went quickly.
But afterwards, the views of Fuji, holy afternoon mountain silhouettes Batman! Gorgeous!

Friend sent pictures from the Metropolitan government building, crystal clear sky, Fuji.....the works !^ I went for a walk in the afternoon enjoying the relatively de-populated streets. There were still line-ups for popcorn though, thought I could sneak in a bag of Chicago mix Originally Posted by mjm

!Yes, the view upon landing at HND was amazing. I could see clear to Izu Oshima, Fuji, and up to Tsukuba-san from over Tokyo Bay.
