Does anyone know what's going on with Hibiki 17 production? Am seeing a new box design all over IG (looks identical to the Blender's Choice box). Why the new box if H17 is supposedly discontinued? Maybe they are starting to produce again? (albeit in small quantities).

i was curious about that too when I first saw it! Which is pretty weird because I never seen such box in Japan!

My understanding is those boxes were put into production before they decided to discontinue it as the production line for Suntory's products is over 2 years long.

My buddy just flew out of Narita today and bought a Taketsuru 25 for Y70,000 (limit 1) and Hibiki 21 Kacho Fugetsu LE for Y50,000 (limit 1). Can't believe they had both in stock.

I really don't think the flight time makes a difference, the airport is a lottery on any given day

Flying out of haneda tonight and picked up a Hakushu 18 LE and Fuji-sanroku 18 LE. Duty free said it was the last bottle of Hak18 today and that they had bottles of Yamazaki 18 and Hibiki 21 limited editions in the morning.

Nice score. Hakushu 18 seems to be one of the hardest to find at the airport in my experience.

Did you have to ask a sales assistant or was it available on a shelf? I will be going through Haneda next weekend

The first shop had a sign out, but no bottles on the shelf, so I asked. They are the ones that said they had inventory in the morning.

The second shop had a display bottle of Hakushu 18, so I asked and she said they had one bottle left. Interestingly, when she went to the back, I could see into the stock room and it seemed they had a bunch of bottles, so they may be controlling how many they sell each day or even choosing who to sell to.
