My buddy was able to grab me a Yamazaki 2017 LE at the distillery this week. I was surprised to hear they are still selling it there.

Def love those LEs. Too bad they stop producing them... I would make a trip to the distillery just to buy a bottle of 2017 LE!!

Do I get it right - Hakushu 12 is 13,980 at one branch and 39,800 at another (same Donki)?

The best find of this trip so far. Had a shot of Hibiki 17/21/Blender's Choice, Nikka Miyagikyo Mazanilla, and the Yoichi 20 for a total of 6800 yen!! Best deal EVER!!!

I was pretty disappointed with the Manzanilla, thought it would taste better for such a limited bottling.

I thought it was quite good. Really smooth but almost too smooth. The sweetness just right for my palate and not too complex. The bartender googled it and said it contains 50 yrs old malt and was finished in Mazanilla for the last 18 months. I double check to make sure he meant 50 not 15 in English and he confirmed!! I ended up getting a bottle for about Y23,000. Yeah probably overpaid but oh well. The Yoichi 20 was the winner that night.... So good!! Hope i can drink the rest of that bottle for Y3000 a shot (that's the price he charged me that night)!!

I assume that’s 68,000JPY for the lot then? 6800 seemed kind of low.

Nope it is 6,800 JPY. I help him to find some hard to find bottles and brought them over. So he hook me up with his bar!! He only charged me Y3800 for a shot of Hibiki 21 and Y3000 for Yoichi 20, the rest are on the house! I am going back to drink more of Yoichi 20 for sure!

Oh no...Japanese Whisky only available in shots, and no bottles! Imagine that...

Sorry guys, I completely spaced that it was shots. I thought the pictures were your bottle haul. Makes sense now.
