I often transit through NRT and continue to Osaka (ITM or KIX). I wouldn't do this. There are other flights later in the day out of NRT. Additionally, you might want to think about flying to ITM rather than KIX, but I don't know the rest of your plans.

Thank you CPH-Flyer, jib71 and nishimark. I’ll take your advice and save myself the stress. I’ll book something for later in the day. Thank you you again for your speedy replies. Palmer |

Connection to a flight from the domestic half of T1 would be quicker and easier. Depending where you're going in the Kansai area, you might consider flying to ITM or taking the train.

There’s a JAL flight at 16:55 to ITM, which would give me plenty of time. The train is an option and probably my preferred option but I just wanted to get to the hotel and kick back as soon as possible with the minimum of hassle.
But in either case, trains will likely get you to your hotel sooner. If you land at T1 at 13;00, you could reasonably expect to arrive in downtown Osaka at 17:48. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d175689572.png |
Anyone can share a more recent experience with Domestic-to-international transfers at FUK?
I am flying ANA HND to FUK and connecting to SQ to SIN on one J ticket. Do I need to lug my bags from domestic to international and clear security again? Will it be enough time landing at 0820 departing to sin at 1000? Thanks in advance. |

Short of any major delay. |
DOM -> INT in NRT
My wife plans to fly domestic from NGO to NRT arriving at 8.55 and then catch the SK flight to Copenhagen at 11.10. So connecting time is 2 Hours and 15 mins. It seems both flights operative to/from T1 Southwing. It would be on separate tickets. Can it be done responsibly? Any experience if ANA checks the luggage all the way through on separate tickets? (SK would if it was in the other direction). |

Plenty of time, and ANA will check your luggage through. ANA is most likely unable to issue boarding passes for the SK flight, SK seems to want to do it themselves in cases like this. So you may have to visit the SK check in desk to get a boarding pass.
How far is it to walk from when you arrive with ANA at domestic T1 Southwing to the departure area where the SK check-in desk would be? |

Looking at timetables, I think there might also be an ANA flight to ITM at 16:40?

Hi,
I have two options for a First Class (domestic leg Economy) on ANA on one ticket (two people / no problems walking etc. both pre-check but that shouldn't make a difference in Japan) Osaka ITM 14:10 > Narita 15:30 and onwards Narita 16:40 > JFK arriving 16:10 Osaka ITM 7:30 > Haneda 8:46 and onwards Haneda 10:20 > JFK arriving 10:00am Advantage Narita > same terminal / I can sleep in / enjoy the flight more as it is lunch/dinner/Hibiki time :) Advantage Haneda > different terminal but Lexus transfer / after arrival i should be home quicker (not rush hour) as I go JFK-Staten Island-NJ Same service/ setas/ luggage checked through and the need for secondary/transit security Does something like lounge access a difference on such a short transfer (at least for the US but thing just work in japan). What would you choose? When should I arrive at ITM to make sure I can check in etc. and still make it to the plane no problems? |

All things being equal, I like the added time between flights on your HND itinerary, just in case there are some delays at ITM. The last consideration would be lounge: Don't make decisions based upon lounges when you probably will only be in for 20 minutes. |

Depends if you tend to get up early or not, and from where are you travelling to get to the airport? Is there a lot more transit time getting to airport in early morning or mid-afternoon?

I am a morning person but 7:30 is an early flight so 14:10 is a little on the late side (hotel check out) but at least I get a good nights sleep. |
