You can arrive at ITM one hour ahead and have plenty of time. Actually, 30 minutes ahead of departure is doable, but best give yourself a bit more time if you're not used to the airport. The airport is domestic only, small, and easy to navigate. You will see signs pointing you to special check-in counters for passengers transiting to international flights at Narita or Haneda. I would make the choice based on preferred arrival time at your final destination.

Looking for Advice:
Airport: NRT Arriving Airline: 1 PAX ANA F, 1 PAX ANA J (LAX - NRT) Arrive NRT at 1510 hours Departing Airline: KE or OZ Option 1: Both PAX KE Y (NRT - ICN) Connection time: 1 hr 45 mins. Arrive ICN 1950 hours Option 2: Both PAX OZ Y (NRT - ICN) Arrive ICN 2130 hours Connection time: 3 hr 45 mins. Connection: INT - INT Separate reservations: Both the ANA F/J are award tickets while the KE/OZ will be cash fare. We will be checking in luggage. I believe both KE and OZ are in T1 of NRT so we would not have to switch terminals but i am not 100% certain. Ideally option 1 would be better since it will allow us to salvage some time in Seoul, while option 2 will give us more peace of mind (in case of delays) and we will be able to utilize the lounge and do some shopping. However we will arrive into ICN late at 2150 hours then travel to our hotel in Seoul. Thanks in advance |

When connecting to OZ, which is Star Alliance, I think there is better chance that ANA will through check your luggage and you do not have to deal with your luggage at NRT. But call ANA and find out. |
With separate reservation, option 2 would be no-brainer if ANA can not through-check.
If they can, I think option 1 should be fine with >90% certainty although I personally would just go with option 2 just because I'm very risk-adverse. It's not like option 2 is a 6-hour layover or arriving into Seoul at God-awful hour. A 3-4 hr layover goes by fast if you have lounge access. |
Connection in OKA
Flying in from Seoul ICN to Okinawa OKA on Korean Air, arriving at 17:55. Am I likely to make a same day connection to Ishigaki ISG, departing on the ANA flight at 19:30? That is the last flight to ISG for the day. Or should I resign myself to staying overnight in OKA? (This would be on two separate tickets.) Thanks, everyone.
