Biggest Tokyo snowfall in 45 years
Yes. things are rather chaotic this morning. Most of the JR lines are stopped, there was an accident on the Toyoko Line, and the snow has turned into 10 cm of delightful slush that is impossible to walk through without soaking one's shoes.
For anyone going to Narita -- the 8:19 Skyliner sold out 20 minutes before departure, and that trend may continue. Fortunately the Keisei Main Line is more-or-less on time (the Sky Access line is about 10-15 minutes late).

Son of Oyuki has done his daddy proud!
I'm just glad that they both had the common courtesy to hold off until the weekend. Although it was a pretty rough commute home, I imagine it would have been much worse had things started getting hairy a few hours earlier.

This was the condition on Shutokou yesterday: http://matome.naver.jp/odai/2139242736123915501
The drains clogged and melted snow had nowhere to go.

I'm happy to say that, this time around, I took to heart the words of 5khours and just let Mother Nature take its course.
I just spent the day eating mikans under the kotatsu watching old folks slog on by. One baba who slipped and fell right by the window caused me to spit my hojicha all over myself!
Thanks again for your sage advice! ^

Three days after the snow, we still require chains to drive past the homes of some nature loving residents.
The local Mcdonald's is not selling hamburgers or breakfast sandwiches on account of supply chain issues, the first time I have seen such a thing since the immediate aftermath of 311.
