That's reassuring. I am flying BKK KIX LAX all four sectors in a 787 and was worried about the old style seats, and a bad lounge in KIX

Strange seating configuration for 787-8

JL708 from BKK to NRT on 21 Aug is scheduled as a 787-8. The seating chart in business class, however, it is only showing 3 rows of seats (rows 1, 2 and 3, 2x2x2 each).

Any idea what is going on?

They are probably using the rear J cabin as economy class. Has been seen before.

Exactly right. I pulled up the economy class seating chart and it show rows 7+ as economy seating.

Makes me question why I should pay for business class . . .

If you only fly business class for the seats, and you are able to select them when booking, you have a point. (they may keep them for JL elite members)
But it is not a common situation that JL only use the forward cabin for J.

NEO Phaseout plans?

We're planning to fly YVR-NRT at the end of the year (Dec 2016). Any chance the slanted NEO seats currently used on the 788 on this route may be upgraded to the SkySuite by then?

I haven't read anything about upgrade plans for these seats - any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Bostonbali

There's no plan to retrofit them. Only new deliveries will have SKY SUITE cabins.

We are a couple flying without our kids. We were assigned to 8AC. Is that an issue if there are bassinets in row 7? What is the likelihood of crying babies?

There is no issue with you sitting there. As for the chance that crying babies might appear in other seats in the same row, your guess is as good as anyone else's. You can, however, change your seats if you wish.

San hnd 787

We are flying J SAN to NRT non stop on 787. What is the best way to find out what seat configuration we are looking at and if it is the "new" fully lie flat seats?

Thank you

How about to NRT?

No lie-flat on SAN - NRT right now.

Here's the best way to find out where lie-flats are through October:
