A new season and a new IHG Accelerate promotion. Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions below:

For newcomers to IHG promotions, note that Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn (including Holiday Inn Resorts) are two different brand categories for these things. If your dashboard says 'stay at a Holiday Inn Express' as one of the tasks and you stay at a Holiday Inn, it will NOT credit for the Holiday Inn Express task. (and vice versa)

For a task that says 'Stay X number of times at a Holiday Inn Express' (or Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, etc.) each stay must be at a different property for it to fully credit rather than staying at the same property multiple times.

An award stay only counts toward a task that specifically requires an award stay and will not count toward other tasks and night requirements for the purposes of the promotion. (Award stays do count toward general elite qualification, but that's outside this promotion)

'Redeem points' award nights only count for the 'redeem points' task and no other tasks. (example- an award night does not count toward 'Stay X number of nights')

At IHG, points + cash stays are simply points stays where you bought some of the points at the time of the reservation. Once you finish the reservation, a points + cash stay shows as a points stay. Thus points + cash stays only count for tasks where they are specified, and not other tasks.

Other than the tasks for redeeming points and point + cash reservations, tasks are generally very stackable. Enjoy the game of figuring out how to get the most out of the least amount of nights and money.

Doing a points + cash booking and then cancelling it does NOT trigger a 'buy points' task completion. A 'buy points' task is a points transaction that is processed through points.com

The 'pay with your IHG credit card' task has typically been very slow to post. If it does within about two weeks of completing a stay, that's relatively quick, and it will often be several weeks beyond that, depending on when your statement closing date is and how IHG's system sweep is timed.

Some offers require booking within the promotion period in addition to staying during the promotion period.

Quite poor for my intents and purpose. Saturday night stays, multiple bonus points package booking requirements (I'm looking to burn, not add more), multiple stays of 4 nights or more - all won't be happening. I actually would be happier with just plain 2k per stay or so, anyways. Ok IHG, Hilton and Marriott then

The only target I would have hit anyways is to renew AMB. Have done so consistently for 10+ years (when not RA) and this time will get 5.4k for doing it, ok I take it .

crap for me

Total possible of 40,800 - I might bother with the two single stay items. Not sure the others are doable. 6 stays on the corporate rate doesn't fit with my travel patterns at all.

28,800 Discover Our Brands. Stay at 5 brands and get 28,800 bonus points.
4,500 Stay for Less and Earn. Book 1 stay(s) using Points & Cash and earn 4,500 bonus points.
6,000 Corporate Account Bonus. Stay 6 time(s) using your corporate rate and earn 6,000 bonus points.
1,500 Spend on your IHG® Rewards Club Credit Card. Book one stay at any IHG® hotel using your IHG® Rewards Club Credit Card and earn 1,500 bonus points

If you can't register

For those who can not register, please confirm whether you have signed up to the accelerate extention of Q2 for August to October period. There are evidence suggesting that IHG does not want people to have double dip.

Hardly Inspiring!

My targets for this quarter amunt to less than 20k points but compared to some it's generous! Compare to the current quarter where I achoeved 90k!

7.2k for 3 weekend stays

2.8k for staying at 3 brands

6.6k for 3 bonus points package stays

1.8k for spending $198 on food and drink

NO bonus for achieving all of those.

Hardly makes me want to book any more stayes that the one I have already booked

I rarely stay at IHG hotels but I did manage to complete an accelerate promotion about 4 or 5 years ago. I’m not certain I’m interpreting my offer correctly and if I am it seems to be reasonable. I’d appreciate thoughts from those more experienced with IHG. Thank you.
Complete all of your Accelerate offers and earn 40,950 total bonus points.
My Offers:
- 8,000 Stay More, Earn More Get closer to the rewards you want when you stay 4 night(s) and earn 8,000 bonus points.
- 12,000 Discover Our Brands Stay at 2 brands and get 12,000 bonus points.
- 4,500 Stay for Less and Earn Book 1 stay(s) using Points & Cash and earn 4,500 bonus points.
- 2,800 Stay at 2 IHG® Hotels Stay at 2 IHG® hotel(s) and earn 2,800 bonus points.
- 13,650 Your Achievement Bonus Complete 4 of the 4 offers and earn (an additional) 13,650 bonus points.
If I’m understanding this correctly, I could complete this, at the minimum, with 4 different 1 night stays (IHG A, IHG B, any other brand A, any other brand B) or 2 different 1 nights stays and 1 stay of 2 nights (IHG A, IHG B, any other brand A) of which one is a Points & Cash stay. Is that correct?

Last period I had a 95,000 bonus promo. This time I've got 66,600 which still seems pretty generous compared to others shared here so far.

8,400 - stay at 2 brands
8,400 - stay at 2 Crowne Plazas
8,000 - Stay 2 weekends including a Saturday night
4,500 - Book 1 stay using Points & Cash
4,000 - Book and stay 2 times via the IHG app
33,300 - Achievement bonus for completing all 5 offers

Mine is better than last time.

4 HIXs 8800 (do-able)

1 P&C 4500 (burn a few points? I'm in!)

Renew Amb 5000 (was going to in Dec anyway)

Complete all three 18300 (worth a couple extra HIX)

-------------------------------------------------

That one-time 1K some folks got struck me as a sick joke.

Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Points & Cash task won't count towards the other targets. You're buying points and as such it counts as a points stay, and therefore not a qualifying rate. So one extra night needed.
