A new season and a new IHG Accelerate promotion. Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions below:

For newcomers to IHG promotions, note that Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn (including Holiday Inn Resorts) are two different brand categories for these things. If your dashboard says 'stay at a Holiday Inn Express' as one of the tasks and you stay at a Holiday Inn, it will NOT credit for the Holiday Inn Express task. (and vice versa)

For a task that says 'Stay X number of times at a Holiday Inn Express' (or Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, etc.) each stay must be at a different property for it to fully credit rather than staying at the same property multiple times.

An award stay only counts toward a task that specifically requires an award stay and will not count toward other tasks and night requirements for the purposes of the promotion. (Award stays do count toward general elite qualification, but that's outside this promotion)

'Redeem points' award nights only count for the 'redeem points' task and no other tasks. (example- an award night does not count toward 'Stay X number of nights')

At IHG, points + cash stays are simply points stays where you bought some of the points at the time of the reservation. Once you finish the reservation, a points + cash stay shows as a points stay. Thus points + cash stays only count for tasks where they are specified, and not other tasks.

Other than the tasks for redeeming points and point + cash reservations, tasks are generally very stackable. Enjoy the game of figuring out how to get the most out of the least amount of nights and money.

Doing a points + cash booking and then cancelling it does NOT trigger a 'buy points' task completion. A 'buy points' task is a points transaction that is processed through points.com

The 'pay with your IHG credit card' task has typically been very slow to post. If it does within about two weeks of completing a stay, that's relatively quick, and it will often be several weeks beyond that, depending on when your statement closing date is and how IHG's system sweep is timed.

Some offers require booking within the promotion period in addition to staying during the promotion period.

Is this really a correct offer? Usually if they don't want to give you much they make you stay many nights to get points; this just seems like a get lost type of offer, given that there's no incentive to stay beyond 1 night. Interestingly I've spent more nights with IHG this year than any year before (currently at 45, while I usually average about 20) and instead of pushing me to spend more they seem to be asking me to spend my money elsewhere in Q4.

I got 39,450

1- 19,200 Stay @ 5 brands

2- 5600 Stay 2 2 HEXs

3- 1500 for paying with the C

do all 3 get 13,150

so it means 6 stays,

Guess I will wait and see what Jan will bring,

* I guess I need to learn Never to say Never, 2 trips in the enxt few weeks came up and turns out I can get 5 nights @ 5 brands each < $90 a night, so I will now do the wholehebang, which will mean a 2nd night at a Hex which may be a mattress run but Im sure by 12/31 I will need a room anyways

Just signed up for mine. It's neither bad nor good, but easily achievable. Maybe that's because none of my completed tasks for the current Accelerate ending on 31st August actually showed up on the dashboard. I saw this as possibly a good thing because it might lead to a more interesting promotion this Autumn. But that has turned out to be neither one thing nor the other. Here it is:

Earn 26,100 total bonus points.

14,400 Discover Our Brands
Stay at 3 brands and get 14,400 bonus points.

7,200 Stay at Holiday Inn Express
Stay at 3 Holiday Inn Express hotel(s) and earn 7,200 bonus points.

4,500 Stay for Less and Earn
Book 1 stay(s) using Points & Cash and earn 4,500 bonus points. Points & Cash allows you to book Reward Nights with fewer points.

I completed the last accelerate in 7 nights to get just over 100,000 points. This time some of the offers are similar, but less generous, and a total of 66,600. I think it could be done in a minimum 6 stays or 10 nights. I have a week in Jakarta in December and there are several cheap IHG properties there, so I'll see where I'm up to then.

13,200 Stay at 4 brands and get 13,200 bonus points.
8,400 Stay at 2 Crowne Plaza hotel(s) and earn 8,400 bonus points.
3,200 Stay 2 weekend(s), including a Saturday night and another night, and earn 3,200 bonus points.
4,500 Book 1 stay(s) using Points & Cash and earn 4,500 bonus points.
4,000 Earn 4,000 bonus points when you book 1 stay(s) of 4 or more consecutive nights.
33,300 Complete 5 of the 5 offers and earn (an additional) 33,300 bonus points.

Whilst I doubt it will achieve anything, i emailed them about the 1000 points offer. Got a reply to say they have passed it on to the specialist team and they dont want me to feel less valued... not expecting anything to be done but felt I had to raise it as thats just an insult!

I got the 1k points - 1 night promo too.

I am contemplating moving all of my Q4 stays back to Marriott just to avoid letting IHG think this is any kind of incentive.

edit add: I'm wondering if the promo site went live too soon; it doesn't link properly from the offers list.
