We did book a 3-bedroom river view for 8 of us. 2 of them are kids and are 10yo and 8yo, and they made an exception for us to exceed the occupancy in the room and also give them free breakfast (I did an inclusive breakfast rate). They may upgrade, but to different view or a suite with a balcony. I have heard of more rare upgrades from 1 to 2 bedroom residences. We are staying at the end of December and will report back .

Review of my stay in December 2023
What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest rate, and was upgraded to King Classic Club Corner Room.
How are the rooms?
Around 38sqm
Elegant design.
(Quite small) bedroom with very comfortable bed.
Sockets next to the bed and usb sockets on the alarm clock/radio.
Expresso machine.
Charles Eames’ lounge chair and ottoman.
Desk
Television screen with large selection international channels.
Nice bathroom with bathtub and walk-in shower.
Byredo Bal d’Afrique toiletries.
No Chromecast
Free PressReader
Very quiet
Panoramic view over the city, cathedral and Post Office.
How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent.
Great staff.
Dining area.
Library area.
Meeting room.
Very good breakfast, afternoon tea and evening spread.
Definitely the big plus of the hotel.
What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
- Very attentive and smiling service
- Great club lounge
- Very central and convenient location (next to French General Consulate, historic Post Office and Cathedral, 5 minutes walk to Lotte Department Store, Opera, shared bike station, 30 minutes drive from SGN airport).
- Pleasant and quiet outdoor pool (but currently opened only on mornings because of partial renovation).
- Early check-in and late checkout guaranteed despite hotel fully booked for holiday season.
- Fantastic Japonese hair salon (love the hot towel and head massage).
BAD
- Nothing.
Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Very solid hotel indeed for quality of service, great club lounge, central location and pleasant pool.
