So it was the bedroom part of Imperial Suite, the living room behind the closed door next to the desk? Interesting set-up. But we definitely enjoyed it, great room as such.

The door on the right side of the desk brings you to the foyer (and then to the living room with its marble fireplace).

36 HOURS Paris - New York Times

Restaurants and bars
  • La Verričre, inside the 19th-century InterContinental Paris le Grand Hotel, is a luxurious cafe with plush armchairs under an arresting glass roof
Ease into Parisian life in La Verričre, a light-filled and typically quiet cafe with plush armchairs and a stunning glass roof inside the 19th-century InterContinental Paris le Grand Hotel in the 9th arrondissement.
On the back of each armchair is a different pastoral scene in mint green, the color matching the frame of the glass roof and the surrounding greenery.
The prices are high end, but the “gourmand” tea or coffee option (16 euros, or about $17.50) comes with three small pastries.
Down the street from the hotel, pause to look at the many sculptures adorning the Palais Garnier, Paris’s most opulent opera house, inaugurated in 1875.
At the very top, notice the sculpture of Apollo (by Aimé Millet) holding forth his lyre for all to see in the boulevards below.

  • Le Bar ŕ Bulles, half-hidden behind the windmill of the Moulin Rouge, is a colorful, theatrical bar and terrace.
  • Le 975 is an elevated bistro offering smart twists on French cuisine in a quiet part of Montmartre.
  • Polissons serves imaginative dishes derived from traditional French gastronomy in Montmartre, with a six-course mystery menu.
  • Bistrot Mee brings visual flair to Korean cuisine in a Zen-like, elegant environment.
  • Aki Boulangerie offers a Japanese spin on French desserts, like yuzu- or matcha-flavored éclairs.
  • Une Glace ŕ Paris is an award-winning ice-cream shop in the Marais district, with some left-field flavor combinations.
  • Pierre Hermé is synonymous with excellent high-end macarons and has many locations throughout Paris.
  • Bouillon Racine, a stylish Art Nouveau brasserie, serves well-made French classics like snails and blood sausages.
  • Ventrus is a portable, eco-friendly restaurant that currently brings guest chefs to the Parc de la Villette.
  • Jardin 21 is a casual open-air bar and restaurant that doubles as a vegetable garden and community space, open from May to September.

Does anyone know if the scaffolding covering Opera Garnier is still up, or when it’s scheduled to be removed? Thanks

The facade will not be visible until the end of 2024.
So won't be finished before the Olympics.

IHG. Le Grand Paris

Le Grand Paris. Has anyone been there lately? Is the club worthwhile? Any special benefits and promos? Is that the best IHG in Paris? Appreciate guidance

The InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hôtel is undoubtedly the hotel with the most comments among the IHG hotels on Flyertalk.

So there's probably no need to create a new thread.

The same goes for detailed experiences.

Considering this at Christmas time

I am a Diamond Ambassador, but is there any difference to getting breakfast included (I think) due to status and booking a room with it?

Looking to book a room with the lounge access.

What is the lounge like?

I read one review after it moved to the lower floor saying that there was barely any food in the evening and all rather poor.

Is this correct?

The lounge is important to us and so if it is not as good as it used to be then might reconsider.

Thanks in advance.

I liked the lounge a lot there was a nice selection of sweet and savoury snacks and a decent selection of drinks. However it would not be a full dinner!

It's one of the most generous and qualitative lounges in the IC network.

(Although, yes, the offering was even richer in the past before covid.)

If you mean Raffles his HfP review that the lounge s*cks ... that's very true.....
https://www.headforpoints.com/2021/1...aris-le-grand/
But this was way back in 2021 when we all just survived the horseman of pestilence and the world was about to end.
After that, in 2022 & 2023 both Nicolas & myself and others reported the lounge food has returned ....

Does the lounge food s*ck because it doesn't substitute for dinner with nuggets, fries, fried noodles, stir fry items and such .... yes indeed,
However what is available is of a different level, think oysters, jumbo prawn, foie and other quality items ..... WITH bubbly!

The room rate with breakfast takes their meal in Café de la Paix,
Those diamonds choosing breakfast as their welcome amenity also take their meal at Café de la Paix
There is no distinction

I am often living off the lounge appetizer spread for a few days in a row and it's far from unsufferable. The only sad thing is the hot items: only a few rolls (tomato and cheese ones). But the rest is high quality and enough to satiate a moderate appetite. Also, after a time where it was always the same, they have started to introduce some small variation from day to day. Honestly if they had noodles or fries, they would compete directly with dinner & room service.

The lounge breakfast has fresh juice, yoghurts, pastries, mashed apples (compote), ham, eggs on order, salmon, sausages, bacon, mushroom tomatoes, and a few kind of cheese. Its much more limited than at cafe de la Paix. If you're diamond, you get the cafe de la paix breakfast. Its busier, also, and I don't always go the café: the lounge offering is often enough.
