I was once a member of the International Airline Passengers Association and used their code back in the Six Continents Club days. Haven't been a member of IAPA since the early 80s, but code seems embedded in my PC profile and no matter how many times I have tried to have it removed, it sticks in there. Rate is generally the same as the Best Flexible one, but some times it is lower and can be cancelled with no penalty.

Here's a hint for how the ICHG website works. For big companies, you can book by going to http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/companyname (replace companyname with the name of the company you're working for - of course you are working for them, right? ). You'll find there's a wide range of companies available, but expect to be asked for ID on check-in (again, no problem if you're working for them I'm sure ).

I have never once been asked for a corporate ID at any ID. Well once, the Mark Hopkins asked for my govt id. I told them this was not a business trip and I did not have it, but would bring it next time. He said fin. I stayed there two more times and they never asked. As for companies, I have used many a corporate id and never been asked. But you do it at you own risk. If they ask for id tell them you are a consultant for the company or will be interviewing with the company or that you were recently laid off.

IKPC5 - 5000 bonus miles/points
I booked IKPC5 this week in Houston, the cost was $10 more than the other best available and for some odd reason $11 less than the IKPCB (1k bonus) and $8 less than IKPC3 (3k bonus). I am wondering if that stay will count as part of my double miles/point promo?
