Any particular sub forums I should check out?

There is a lot to keep track of and it's probably impossible to follow it all, so what I tend to do is to focus on the handful of subforums most relevant to me. Personally, that is the Air Canada/Aeroplan forum. A few others I check less often, but still regularly, include:

• American Express
• WestJet/WestJet Rewards
• United/Mileage Plus
• Car Rentals
• Marriott Bonvoy

And of course, there is the highly amusing TravelBuzz, and I tend to rely on the destinations subforums when planning trips. Also, I find the "MyFlyertalk" function to be a great way of keeping tabs on conversations I'm participating in.

Those probably account for 98% of my FT browsing/contributing. Good luck!! There is a lot of knowledge and wisdom here, free for the asking :)

For curiosity sake, why do you follow the United/Mileage Plus and Car Rentals subforums? I really don't know much about those two.

First, welcome to the forum!

I follow the United and car rentals forums because they're relevant to my interest, United is probably the airline I fly second-most after Air Canada, and I tend to rent cars at most of the destinations I visit so the information I find there can be very useful.

There are many different subforums that cater to various needs, so be sure to check out the list to find the ones most relevant to you.

It's a good idea to do that... those are a source of specialized information that can help you with the airlines/hotel chains/car rental chains you deal with the most.

General subforums like this one (Information Desk) and Travel Buzz are good, but they are much more general in nature.
