Was it equally smooth for someone whose Indian passport was issued outside of India, with their US address? |

my experience in delhi is detailed earlier in this thread....there are many others i know who went through the process after me & it was pretty smooth....
my experience in delhi at the RPO was much smoother than yours, 9am appointment counter A/B/C and out by 10am. My passport was issued in New York so I took my aadhar card for verification and that worked. The PCC is another story, I went to my local police station and they sent me to the sub divisional station where I went to some room marked special branch or something. They told me to wait 3 days and come back with as many docs as I have Voter ID, PAN card, Aadhar card and Utility bill. I’ll update this when I hear back. heres keysers experience from earlier: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...1&postcount=21 |

Is your passport issued in India, or outside? Just curious. It might be smoother if it’s issued in India |

outside India but as long as you have aadhar you’re golden |

Bangalore police were insisting that Aadhar should be issued at least 1 year ago, so it wasn’t so golden for me. I was thinking of filing a grievance with Bangalore police for being so clueless, but I’m holding off till they finish their part of the background check. |

gotcha mine was issued over a year ago I did end up filing a grievance with the passport office about how clueless the police were about GEP verification. I requested them to advise Bangalore police properly on GEP verification. |
Just a quick update, looks like I’m screwed because Delhi Police apparently needs 3 business days to have the forms delivered by postal mail before they can initiate verification and I’m leaving at 7a on the morning of the 4th business day. They were extremely rude and unhelpful but that’s to be expected
leaving this is here in case anyone else needs to plan travel from Delhi |

Are you based in the USA, such as on a work visa? That's different as you have a local address. I wonder if non US residents will be, in any way, to get a card, even if it's just for those who can provide a US mailing address. I've written to cbp in this regard, I'll probably get a cookie cutter response but hope to get it on their radar that the card has its uses - - you can use the global entry / nexus vehicle lanes while entering Canada, and entering the trusted traveler security lanes at Canadian airports requires one of a few types of cards, such as nexus or global entry. Hope everyone else sends similar messages so they get the idea that sending the card to non US residents would be beneficial.

My applications status changed back to the old one today. Not sure what's going on here...
"GEP Verification Process has been initiated on your application. Once inputs from all the concerned Government Authorities are received, the Report will be shared with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). No queries would be entertained in relation to your GEP application status at the Passport Offices and PSP Call Centre. You may contact CBP for further updates on the processing of your GEP application." |

Even my status also changed back like this. Do any of you know why this happens?
- Does this mean that my documents were insufficient for CID and other governmental agencies to complete my verification and they have returned it back to PSK? Do we have anybody in this group, whose status did change like this and still got it approved, later? |
