Is this information confirmed to be correct (hard to fathom but believable, coming from our babus)? I plan to travel to India through Nov-12 to Jan-02. Is this enough time to do the Global entry rituals? Or should I ask for a refund?
thank you! |
Any successful applications?
I think I already know the answer but there is no cost for having hope :) Any successor applicants here? My police verification was completed on Aug 28th, and now waiting....
PS - Thank god for you guys! Especially keyser, thanks for all the helpful info. There is nothing else out there. I'm pretty sure I've searched the entire internet for info about GEP! |

You really only need to go to the passport office, and get a police verification done. Everything else after that is done in the background, and doesn't require your physical presence in India.

It's a pretty bad show when the US and India engage in a joint governmental stunt, playing to the cameras, that then fails to deliver in any sort of timely manner for the applicant base being courted by the involved governments. Can't say I am surprised that this has been the general situation.

Right now, it looks like my visa will expire before the Indian government gives their approval. Hopefully I can just update my visa details when I go for the CBP interview. |

If it was only up to CBP and not the Indian Government, Indian citizens would have got their Global Entry approval in 3 months.

The US decided what process from India DHS/CBP would consider acceptable to process Indian citizens for GE. In other words, I find the USG and GoI jointly and severally responsible for the situation.
However... If you fly Delta a lot on domestic US routes, you can enroll in CLEAR to skip the line for the TSA agent to scan your photo ID and check your ticket\boarding pass. It will cost you $99\year, but it's worth it, if you fly frequently within US. It isn't applicable for international flights though. |

I have been reading your posts and following this thread, much appreciate all the effort and information you put in. coming to your quesiton, I was able to link and login to login.gov using my existing email which i had used to create GOES account. I am already a trusted traveller member in US and I do have a PASSID which i was able to link it. Hope this helps. But coming to Global Entry, i am still waiting and being positive for one day for status to change from "GEP Verification Process has been initiated on your application. " to something else like completed, verified, submitted or what ever it makes all of us happy here in this thread. Thanks, |

I see that issue because they have a mechanism to send OTP to only US numbers, I got the OTP to my US number itself, you should keep that for login.gov. And one more observation is, everytime you attempt to login, it sends OTP to your registered US number. I guess this shouldn't be a problem as compared to no status update on any of ours applications till now :-( Thanks, |
