Using AI miles for LH award
Hey all - thought y'all could help. One of my closest friends has enough AI miles to get an LH award but has no idea on how to actually go ahead and book them. He called AI's Flying Returns and they said that he needed to call LH, get a PNR, and then use that PNR with a faxed form. However, LH (both M&M and Res) have no idea on how to do the same. He has gone back and forth and I thought one of you might be able to help him. Let me know.

LH would justifiably have no clue what they are talking about. AI has to make the reservation on their system and issue the ticket from there. A reservation made by LH can only be ticketed by LH.

Very strange... LH's native GDS is Amadeus, AI's is definitely not Amadeus, so AI couldn't even use the reservation/PNR LH can create. If you are a M&M member you can call LH and create a reservation and put it on hold. Would be interesting to try that out
