Smile What to expect in 9W First

Very excited to use my AA mile to got an First Award from PVG to SFO in late July, just wondering what to expect on 9W. How is their service comapre to CX or SQ? Do they offer pyjamas? And suggestion on what to expect on this flight?

If you are used to AA, just expect a miracle!
Clean Planes, Outstanding Comfort, World Class Catering, Friendly and attentive flight attendants!

Before you think you are in heaven the TSA morons will welcome you back to earth in SFO.

In terms of luxury the 9W First Class is quite outstanding. I have flown them a number of times between DEL-LHR.

They provide very comfortable pyjamas, proper slippers and an nice amenity kit. To top it off you get a little gift at the end of the flight...I have since built up my collection of shot glasses!

I find their seat/bed wide and comfortable. The bathrooms are kept spotless and the one fwd of the 1st class cabin is spacious enough to use as a dressing room.

Compared my other preferred F option on DEL-LHR, the food on jet is inferior compared to AI and their cabin staff far less confident and green.

I flew last week from LHR-MAA via BOM taking the night flight out and the day flight in. Ground service was impeccable mainly because it was booked a CIP except for the fact that limo transfer in LHR on the return leg was not in the system despite confirming it personally on the way out.
The flight out was in the night and the staff were really green They forgot to serve soup and asked me three times whether I wanted the salad before or after my main course.
Return trip was even more hilarious. The staff congregated in the galley and never came out unless you rang the bell. I am not used to ring the call bell in First class and I must have used it at least 10 times. The main observations were
1. Never asked for a drink after take off.
2. Never asked for a refill after finishing the acquired drink
3. No wine served unless asked for.
4. Wine poured full into the glass without an opportunity for tasting. I reminded the staff about it
5. Soup served lukewarm with no croutons offered
6. Main course served cold and had to be requested to be heated up
7. No snacks or drinks offered between meals and staff were conspicuous by their absence
8. Champagne served stingily with no refills
9. Cappucino served without coaster and napkin. Had to ask for it
10. Forgot to serve Chocolates after lunch and did not ask for post dinner drink

I am used to excellent service in First class particularly in the London-India-Far east route by BA, CX, SQ and MS. The AA service on their ORD-DEL route is outstanding .
Jet needs to train its staff more rigorously and unless they are brought up to true first class level of service , it is no use having a great seat. It should be called Premium business class rather than First.
I do wish Jet well and only constructive criticism will help.

I haven't heard EgyptAir mentioned in the same company as BA, CX, and SQ before. Is their first class really that good?

I had the same experience. The limo in London had been booked by my TA, and then I had confirmed it myself whilst in the UK. The car didn't turn up, and dealing with the car company was a total shambles - they were incredibly unprofessional.

I found that 9W's customer services' handling of this afterwards appalling - they were absolutely disinterested, and didn't bother to communicate. I have stopped flying them as a result, because I don't want to fly with an airline that has no interest in dealing with problems if they occur. My next F ticket next week has been bought on BA simply because 9W did not bother to respond and deal with this.

Finally the problems faced by 9W passengers are gradually emerging. I think we need a sticky thread for 9W problems

How sad that the airline bigwigs do not realize this elementary piece of customer psychology.

Last month I flew on AC Business Class from Asia to Canada; my seat was right behind the galley (I was too busy prior to the flight to check seats) and it was a very noisy place; certainly not the restful experience that I thought I was entitled to.

Wrote a comment card and was pleasantly surprised to get a polite letter in the mail (within 2 weeks of the flight) along with a voucher to be redeemed against future travel. Will I fly AC again? You bet.
