Has Etihad substantially hiked their charges for Jet Award Tickets? I asked for an MAA-AUH-JFK one-way Business Class Award Ticket on Etihad using JP Miles yesterday, and the taxes and fees quoted were Rs.57482 per guest, plus 120,000 miles - the fees seem to be ridiculously high! Etihad website shows total fees of around Rs.33000 on the same date/route.

Last year I had booked this same itinerary with the same miles around Rs.15,000 total fees. I was offered redemption on Cathay Pacific for 187,000 JP miles plus Rs.18000, which seems a lot more reasonable, but it would be a longer flight and they don't have tickets on my specific date.

Has anyone else noticed this, and is there some way to take this up with Etihad or Jet?
