Folks
I'm planning to use some of my JP Miles for a one way LHR-DEL in May 2015.
With Etihad's A380 ops well and truly in ops by then, I don't think I'll get a better product for those miles.
I was told it will cost me 62,500 JP Miles for a one way Etihad business seat, along with some charges.
My questions:
1) On an average, what are extra charges levied by EY on JP Miles redemption in Business? JP customer care couldn't answer that to me, on email and phone.
2) Another option is to spend 93000 JP miles for a one way first class ticket in EY, if the extra charges are similar to those levied on Business class ticket.
Look forward to your thoughts, thank you.

9W charges YQ for redemption on EY flights. I haven't personally redeemed miles on partner awards, however, I have been told that there are a few EK segments that don't involve YQ charge.
The best way to find out the YQ component, would be to use ITA Matrix and scan the fare component for YQ. If you happen to find any 9W FFP partner offering a fare without YQ, you can compare that offer with EY.
Good Luck.!
PS: The YQ component for J / F class fare should ideally have marginal or no difference.

62.5k miles for a partner redemption is good value now that jet is charging 81k miles for their own flights on this route....
the only way to find out what the taxes & surcharges would be is to fill out the partner redemption form & wait for them to get back to you with the exact amount....

i wouldn't rely on that....jet has some strange calculations which makes no sense....twice they have tried to charge me more in taxes & fees than what a revenue ticket would have cost me on the partner airline....

I think Business or First is the best value and very nominal difference between Business & First awards in cash..
But then I believe even EY Business is quite good.. so unless you wanna splurge, even EY business should be decent enough and the remaining miles can always be used for India domestic redemptions on 9W which are quite decent value IMHO..

This is what I see on ITA for J class, LHR-AUH-DEL
Fare 1: Carrier EY DAPOWGB LON to DEL (rules)
Passenger type ADT, ONE-WAY-ONLY fare, booking code D
Covers LHR-AUH (Business), AUH-DEL (Business)
143,168.00
Indian User Development Fee (IN) 1,049.00
(YQ) 997.00
United Kingdom Air Passengers Duty (GB) 14,148.00
United Kingdom Passenger Service Charge (UB) 4,480.00
Will I have to pay just YQ or User Development Fee, GB and UB as well?

Just checked, doesn't seem to be possible. Also doubt I'll be able to use Etihad's cash upgrade bidding system since it's a 589 ticket code.

Now that Jet & Etihad are chuddi-buddies, is there any relaxation on the number of miles required to redeem on Etihad metal..
Alternatively, does anyone have Jet's partner redemption chart ?? The one I have is really old..not sure if they ever managed to update that ..
