JetPrivilege Platinum level getting some shine back?
Exclusive check-in counters for JP Platinum have mushroomed across airports - Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai (ones I have been to). Earlier it used to be all lumped in together into a counter that would read 'JetPrivilege Silver/Gold/Platinum'
Seems like op-ups are also being prioritized properly with Plats regularly getting upgraded before others (like it should be)....
Any one else notice this??

Yup I agree.. Mumbai now has 2 dedicated Platinum counters. Got op-ups on GOI-BOM yesterday and BOM-GOI today that makes it a total of 6 in December itself.
Then again the GOI-BOM sector in Dec is perennially overbooked.

Though most of the traders are plat's, they are never given OP-up's since the ground staff want them to use their vouchers etc..
I have also been given op-up's in this sector multiple times even when I was a blue plus along-with my wife who was just a blue member..^

I see zero value in being plat at Jet. I have started flying them in June and qualified for platinum by August and re-qualified just now around Christmas but still have not even received my Jet Blue card.
All I care about are the upgrade vouchers, but with missing welcome packages these tend to get lost and are not redeemable anyway.
Try to contact them by email: on average they reply after 5 days that they will come back to you in 3 days and they never do.
After being PPS at Singapore airlines for 5 years, Gold at KLM and Emirates I wanted to try the new best local airline since I moved to Mumbai, but without any management changes from their EY investment I struggle to see who would use them for any of their flights.
No dedicated lounges, no upgrades, decent service but not anything that can compete with SEA or ME airlines.
In the land of the blind, 1 eye is king.
Can't wait for the Tata-SQ tie up to start in June!

Not able to understand how you can requalify in 5 months for Platinum since IMHO the same tier is vaild till atleast one year if attained once

they have a double qualification system as well....once you reach that then you have plat status for 2 years, even if you don't take another flight during that period....

Well I could not agree more. I was a Plat 4 years ago and then gave up on them for the same reason moving all my international travel to EK.
Seems like I got Plat again last year but just accidental travel on India-ME sectors where Jet was the only non-stop option at times (EK being a 1-stop).
BUT with the EY purchase and EY's own focus on its permium tier am really hoping some of that focus will seep into Jet's management....ofcourse TATA-SIA at their back will help too...

Some of the shine and Op Up's must be coming back due to the availability of seats.. Now with Citi Jet card gone out of the window, there are less of the upgrade vouchers in the market.. less vouchers, less free upgrades for non plats using them, more op ups to be had on full flights..

i don't know if this has anything to do with the vouchers....over the years i have been on flights that have been half empty to completely full in economy but no op-up was offered....flights were i have been the only passenger in business & others were not upgraded....the workings of jet remain a complete mystery to me....so much so that i have almost stopped flying them over the last year or so....i'm even going to let my plat status expire this year....it just doesn't seem worth it....
but then again, in this age of consumerism and cut throat competition in aviation, the only thing that matters is the bottom line.. if the airlines can get in the green, without getting worried about a loyal customer base, guess they have a clear choice..

YOU ARE LETTING YOUR PLAT EXPIRE..!! wow you must be really annoyed with them.. !! Jet should seriously take note.. if long time loyalists and Plats, like yourself are abandoning the ship, then there's little hope for the airlines to build a loyal base..

i've gone from about 120 flights a year to about 30 flights last year....i can still easily make plat before my status expires in june this year....i have a bunch of trips before that & if i flew jet on most of them then i would easily cross the tier requirement....but i just don't think its worth it anymore....
