Official India-based Airlines Award Availability Check Request Thread

Along the lines of the Southwest Airlines thread, I was wondering if it makes sense to have a thread to check 9W's award availability since one needs 3,500 miles to check on the website.

Can a kind soul please let me know the miles & taxes for any BLR-BOM/COK/TRV flight?

Use this link to check mileage info.. It's accessible to everybody. http://www.jetairways.com/EN/IN/JetP...alculator.aspx

Taxes are roughly Rs. 1k for all domestic segments.

Anish, i did a quick search using the link you gave me and also searched using the dashboard after i logged into 9W account. I am seeing mixed information? it says, its 8500 miles to redeem a BLR BOM flight but shows 6800 miles to redeem BLR BOM (if i check after logging in).

I would rely on information thats given after i login (6800 miles) since i have redeemed in the past online and that information is always correct.

Am i missing something here? Please help

Since the above link doesn't seems to provide accurate information or i may be wrong, i thought i would try to help here with some free time i have on hand right now.

Here is what i found.

BLR COK
4000 Miles plus Rs 1004 (including everything) in economy
8000 Miles plus Rs 1104 (including everything) in premier
Premier seats available only in 9W2307.

BLR BOM
6800 Miles plus Rs 1004 (including everything) in economy
13600 Miles plus Rs 1104 (including everything) in premier

BLR TRV
4800 Miles plus Rs 1004 (including everything) in economy
9600 Miles plus Rs 1104 (including everything) in premier

The reason i checked taxes for each sector was i remember paying more than 1200 on BOM DEL redemption few weeks back so just wasn't sure if it will be same on each flight but i guess the difference won't be much (if any).

The difference is because of 20% discount Jet is offering for redemption on domestic sectors till September 30. If you check for dates after 30 Sept, both will be the same.

actually the tax amount would be a little less than inr 1,004....if you look again then that amount includes insurance which is optional....

My bad!

I am generally very particular with this optional insurance but since I wasn't going to book the flight I guess I just missed that part.

also note that airport taxes differ for each airport and specially the newer airports ( DEL / CCU/ BLR/ HYD) charge much more than others and this increases the difference..

I don't know if this thread is just about domestic or international but I recently tried booking an award ticket from Amsterdam to Lisbon via a partner airline using JP Miles.

The ticket would've been booked on Lufthansa (via Frankfurt) and there was availability. The trip would cost 10,000 miles. Taxes came to about Rs. 9,500.

This wasn't a good deal for me since I could fly the same route with easyjet or another budget airline for about the price of the taxes i.e. Rs. 9,500.

Decided against it but just putting this here for your information

Both, but it is for checking 9W's website for availability, rather than a general discussion of 9W awards.

Happens quite often with Jet i think.. the taxes on redemption for partner airlines are as good as buying the tickets outright with any other carrier..

The taxes are considerably less on the Middle Eastern carriers and so makes sense on the routes they fly. But, of course finding availability on your desired dates is another story altogether.
