To those of you interested... Hi and here is my trip report. Sorry it wasn’t earlier but firstly my internet access stopped working for 4 days after my first logon due to a SIM update from Vodafone (I didn’t know you could update a SIM!) and then I went down with, and still have, the dreaded Delhi belly. Anyhow here goes....

As I mentioned earlier I decided to get the car an hour earlier to experience the lounge. After queuing behind some J guys in the F class lane I got the red carpet at check. I used my United m+ frequent flyer scheme which wasn’t a problem though the miles have still to appear. Hopefully they will soon. I didn’t get a fast track ticket for passport control so instead I decided to try my luck and fortunately my F ticket got me through. After a thorough security check I got through pretty quickly. On checking into the lounge I was told there would be a buggy to get me to the gate so things were looking good. However I have to say I was rather disappointed by the lounge which was OK but not special. Maybe I was hoping for something more akin to Emirates. Anyhow half way through my stay there I was told they were closing upstairs which was where I was and had to move downstairs. However the view of the aircraft coming into land was good.

As I was travelling F I decided to check out the Rolexs. I chose mine and now the only problem is the saving. I reckon it will take me years!!
The buggy to the gate was fun and I was whisked through and onto the plane. I really did enjoy the moment of “turning left”.

With just 8 booths in First service was excellent. Champagne etc. The thing that struck me on the way out was that no one fussed about checking bags were under the footstool. Maybe they did check but it wasn’t obvious to me like it is if you’ve turned right. Anyhow suddenly from being only 4 of us they upgraded 4 more and then there were 8. I have to say I didn’t hand around for the meal and crashed out on the excellent flat beds with the doors shut. BOM was too soon and I discovered I missed breakfast as I woke as we were coming in to land. So a quick change out of the Jet pyjamas and I was ready to face India.

On leaving the aircraft those of who had paid ( or had paid for us  )F were met at the plane door by very helpful employees who helped us through the airport at every stage. They opened up a new lane at passport control and as my bags was off first within minutes I was outside looking for my driver.

Well I’m hoping I’m not going on too much so here’s the return...
3 hours before departure I got a text from Jet asking me to call when 5 mins from the airport. I did so and a porter was then expecting me on arrival. Again I got whisked through to check in and this is when F really started to make a difference. Jet realised it was my birthday and I was presented with chocolates! My boarding card was pre printed although it had my 9W FF scheme on. I hope they made the change to United. Also my departure card was mostly filled in and then suddenly my feet didn’t touch the floor. I got the “who is he stares” from everyone as I got to the front of every queue. This was great because I realised this is where you need the service... at the return end of the trip. I know LHR quite well but not BOM so I was very grateful for the assistance there. I was surprised that there is an F class lounge at BOM and I spent the whole time talking to the only other F guy. I think he probably paid for his own ticket because he owned the company!

On board, after an accompanied walk to the gate the crew were fantastic. Not great but fantastic! I thought about trying the food but, aside from some fruit, my stomach simply wasn’t having it. This time the J’s weren’t upgraded to F and my backpack got it’s own F class seat!! I had the bed made for (and that makes a real difference) watched a movie and slept till breakfast.

At LHR I got a fast track card for immigration which I didn’t use as UK entry was quicker. As I’ve read elsewhere the J’s where held back so the F’s could leave first. My bag was second one off this time and then I was home.

So in summary thank you Jet! I think the F difference is really privacy. You have a cubicle you can close off to the outside world and 3 loos between 8 of you. This was probably an experience I’ll never get again and later this week it’s back to normal with BA cattle class LHR-LIS!! However at least I can say I’ve sat in 1A long haul! Thank you kind employer too!

PS I have photos.. I just don't know how to load them. Any ideas?

flew 9W F for the first time in Feb this year...all 4 subsequent trips from LHR-BOM have been in 9W F....atleast on the Europe - India route...i havent seen any better product than this...royalty to the core...i guess only EK/SQ can be better...these legacy US carrier exec's need to be sent on analysis trips on 9W/SQ etc so they can see why we complain to pay F for AA/UA on US-LHR...
btw - cant wait to try the KingFisher experience from LHR once they come into OW...

To be fair, it's Bombay belly. To make matters worse, it doesn't even rhyme.

To be fair, Kingfisher First is a business class product and a very good product compared to many European/US carriers.

A proper comparison would be Kingfisher First vs Jet Premiere which i would say are about even. Jet is better is your a lone traveller and Kingfisher First better if a couple.

Jet F is a class above both and a true First Class product.
