American Platinum flying Iberia - how to transfer status?
I have some flights coming up on Iberia and I'm an AA Platinum. I want to somehow make it so that Iberia recognizes my OneWorld status but cannot figure out how to do this. I called them to ask if I could put my American number in the reservation instead of my Iberia Avios number, and they said I couldn't. They didn't appear to understand why I would want this or what I was trying to do.
Can anyone help me get this sorted out?

Is this an award flight using IB avios? Trying to double dip?
You could try AY Finnair to change the ffp number (Unsure if that works with IB)

Thanks! After I posted above I found the reference to the Finnair workaround and this did work for me. (It's a cash fare.)

If a cash fare should be possible to put in any OW ffp number.
