  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

Please do a separate data point for each account. If you opened accounts for others (spouse, child, parent, etc), please make a separate entry for each account you opened. Please follow the formatting below so we have some consistency. DOCS?: DOCS or NO DOCS. Did you submit identity documentation to IB?

No issues booking Iberia metal flights

I have the same issues as others if its anything other than IB metal

Anyone tried over the phone?
I see availability on the website but on the phone they see nothing and told me "no availability".
What is your experience with phone guys?

call the UK number +442036843774 and say "Iberia Plus bookings" (thanks to other threads about this!)

I had to try 4 times but finally got a guy who got it sorted and booked - BA Club Europe flights Heathrow to Greece

So it definitely can be done, you'll probably just need to HUCA and be patient!!

Completely useless--spent an hour on the phone with three different agents, got four different reasons why the flights wouldn't book. Supervisors were not available.

Forgot to say... I'm not the best with accents but I got the impression that I was perhaps speaking with a mix of outsourced agents in eastern Europe as well as Spanish, presumably in Iberia owned call centre.

It is probable that these have different systems/access/training - the Spanish guys sounding more able to assist (and finally getting my booking through)

Like many others here I'll update my experience:

New account opened on 23rd June and booked 9 one-way flights (most of them are return on the same day - 1st/last flight day trips). Account was locked almost immediately thereafter and finally unlocked today (18th July) with an email as follows:

Dear Mr. LOO:

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences we may have caused you for not being able to respond until today the e-mail you sent us regarding our 9,000 Avios promotion.

We correctly received your documentation and we would like to inform you that we have proceeded to activate your Iberia Plus account and to generate a new temporary access PIN code for you to enter into your Iberia Plus personal profile. You will receive it soon on the e-mail address associated to your Iberia Plus account.

Keep in mind that this is a temporary access PIN code; therefore, you must change it once you enter your profile.

In relation with the 9,000 Avios campaign for flights booked on iberia.com, we have reviewed your request and the information you supplied. We have sent the information to the relevant department for the awarding of the promotional Avios. If the information within your bookings is correct, you should see these credited in your account during the following week.

If you are interested in knowing how we treat your personal details and the official documentation you have provided us, please, address to our data protection policy over our webpage www.iberia.com.

Now waiting for the Avios points to get credited and see what redemption can be made (although it does seem many others are reporting issues/restrictions/etc... Fingers crossed.

Based on the below bolded, am i interpreting correctly that I cannot transfer additional Avios points in (e.g., from Chase UR) to supplement my 90K avios in order to book a flight I want?

Has anyone successfully transfer Chase UR into the account as Avios, and then use the UR-turned-Avios together with Iberia bonus Avios to book a flight?

The extra Avios collected through this promotion will be recorded in your standard balance and be subjected to special expiration date and terms and conditions, additional to those of the standard Iberia Plus Programme, except for the following:

1-These Avios cannot be transferred or combined with Avios from other programmes or accounts, and they will expire on December 1st 2018 if not used by that date. All Avios from this promotion not redeemed by then will be withdrawn from the customer’s account on December 1st 2018.
2-These Avios may be used via the Iberia Plus Programme from the moment they are awarded up until December 1st 2018.
3-Any purchases charged to Avios from this promotion (redemptions) may be exchanged and reissued, if applicable, up until December 1st 2018, as per the particular terms and conditions of the products purchased. Keep in mind that cancellation or refund requests made by the customer for tickets purchased during the promotion implies withdrawal or cancellation of the promotional Avios, regardless of the refund date.
4-The 9,000 extra Avios from this promotion have been awarded to all customers who used a valid Iberia Plus number when purchasing tickets that meet the campaign terms and conditions via Iberia systems.

There is a slight chance I used my old passport number, I just sent them a picture of that one. I'll see if they accept that, otherwise I'll just cancel the tickets before the 31st.
I sent a humble email with a picture of my old passport. Five hours ago I got the email saying that they correctly received my documentation and that they will go on to activate my account and post the Avios. I guess I will receive the temporary pin soon. No Avios has been posted yet according to the app.

Norwegian passport, tickets bought through the US website.

Finally

After reading a post on One Mile At A Time that the points were being posted. I logged on to my wife’s and my account and found the points had been posted.

We’d booked 10 domestic flights at a cost of £21 each, nearly consequtive days (availability more than attempting to keep a gap). Both new accounts, had to send in Passports and attached the PDF confirmations of each e-ticket. To be fair did panic and send everything to the CEO’s after no initial reply. Have no sent a Thank You email.

I still can’t be how great this promotion was. We saved over £4000 each on our one way redemptions (including the cost of buying the tickets for the promotion and the taxes).

Just reading through some of these comments. I sent proof of the flights I booked with the 9k Avios promo to Iberia on 05 July, they replied this morning with the 'we have sent your information to the relevant department' statement. For anyone who also got this email, how long did it take for your avios to post?
